dauphin
Delicious library. I haven't used it yet but was wowed by a friends copy. You can even use it to keep track of loaners!
Plink
I use the goodreads app. Wait, there is a goodreads app? You just made my day! Off to the app store...
bobbeym
I second the goodreads app. It's great for tagging want-to-read books from the library too. I have a special "library book" shelf just for those.
PeterPan
I use Readerware. I have about 7K books, and it works for me. You can get the app to go on your phone as well. You're going to want to have your database handy when you're out shopping. :)
dauphin
Whoah, readerware is $75. I hadn't bought delicious library yet because I wasn't sure if I would get the $25-ish worth out of it...
SilverMoon
I just started using Book Catalogue from the Play Store. So far so good. Free, too.

Are you for real? I bought mine YEARS ago, like within a year of starting homeschooling (when I realized the software I started with wasn't gonna cut the mustard) and I've never had to pay to upgrade. It's snazzier now. So many things now are online and socially connected. I can see where that would be good for some people and situations. I think somebody here recently got Readerware on my rec and liked it. You can get the mobile version as well and use your phone as the bar code scanner to enter the books. For me, I wanted a good solid database that I could back up, search, have on my mobile devices, and frankly have for insurance purposes. Readerware does all that for me.
If there's an app that shows where the book I bought is (in the car? kids bedroom? ...), then you've really got something!
MicheleinMN
librarything.com - I created folders to show me which room the book is in. You can also *tag* the book with the room or shelf.

Wheres Toto
I use the Goodreads app. I set up separate shelves for - my books, books stored in the garage, kids books, science books, etc. Then I can choose which shelf I want it filed to (or multiple ones) when I scan them. MrsH
I also use goodreads. Dd12 is on it, too, and I love being able to send book recs. For summer reading, she chose three books from a shelf labeled "summer 2014" and she loved using the summary and reviews to help her make selections. She also has a "books I chose" as a shelf. She lives the control it gives her. Also makes it easy for me to see what she read during the year.
