Pouring rain--not putting me in the holiday mood!

--errands: grocery store, library, bookstore (forgot part of a gift for a little niece!), Costco for a pizza since I'll be right there ;)

--exercise: Pilates abs plus cardio

--put Christmas cards in mailbox

--wrap dh's gifts while he's at work

--dd13: FLL practice 2:30-4:30, decorating cookies with dnephew8 and going thru dniece15's closet for "new" clothes after (they live down the block from the FLL coach)

--wrap dd13's gifts while she's gone

--make treats: "moose munch" (caramel popcorn drizzled w choc), Russian teacakes/Mexican wedding cakes sans nuts (dd18 might do this), half&half cookies (large cookies dipped in half vanilla icing and half choc icing), sugared walnuts, peppermint bark

Good gravy  I'd better get busy

No tackling, enjoying!!

Making a beef stew for supper because we are unclear on when the outlaws will be arriving and it will keep nicely.

My last two presents are coming today!

Getting the wood stove going as our little warm spell is going away.  A little tricky with no kindling but I can do it.

Vacuuming is in order I think, but just the main room, I already did the upstairs.

Rearranging youngest's room to get the air mattress in there for her sister while outlaws are here.

Listening to Boston Pops Holiday songs, old school with Arthur Fiedler, just like when I was growing up!

Need to grab my cinnamon buns for Christmas morning out of the freezer to thaw.

Prayers here, Tammy.

My morning started great and then as I was walking with the kids to the car, we watched a VW van run into my car in the parking lot!  We were just standing there watching..."They just hit my car." I kept muttering.  It was a pretty good hit, the car rocked back. I drove it to dh's work and he will take care of it.

I don't want to be obnoxious or difficult, but I don't want to go to only one car if it is not my fault.

I still can't believe I saw it.

But I still have to do some stuff today.

Mail cards

laundry

edit a late essay

grade a final

wrap a few gifts

finish cleaning up downstairs

call mil

go to the store

decorate cookies at my mother's

PM practice: swimming, climbing, water polo

Jen - they didn't stop?  Did you write down their license plate?

Tammy - praying

I had a very tough night.  - Was up from about 3 to 6 am maybe?  Got back to sleep and then was woken up by the telephone at 9 (I never ever sleep that late) with a call from the vet.  I want to go back to sleep!  But everyone is up now and it's "Mooooom!" and "What do we do about. . . !"  Hopefully I'll get a nap later.

I realized that I didn't put down my habits:

Get in steps

Monitor blood sugar and blood pressure

Digestive enzymes

No rice

Keep living room tidy

Green smoothie

10 min. dog grooming  (I have to bathe Rocky today.)

No, after she hit my car,  she parked right next to me!  I was standing there with 4 of my kids, and she got out and said, "Oh, I wondered if I hit your car."  I was holding a piece of my plastic grill in my hand!

I got all her info and license plate number.  I was in a fender bender about 3 years ago at this same time of year and it took forever to get things fixed. Just getting a new bumper will take ages, I am afraid.

I felt a little bad dumping it on dh, but I hate that stuff. I have joked that I got married so I would never have to talk to insurance people again.

The NO SUGAR habit was already a fail at breakfast  , but the rest of my list got done. I even got enough steps without walking on the treadmill!

Krissi, your list made me so tired, I was glad I took a nap.

I have gotten nothing done. But the nap was great!

I have about 45 minutes before I have to leave for my mom's and practices. I better get working.

Jean, I hope you feel better and Tress, way to go on the steps!

Took care of vet stuff

Took dd to the library and to the store for a last minute gift for a friend's b-day party.

Now we're trying to figure out who's going where.

Ok - Dd to friend's to drop off birthday gift (she's not going to stay because she's not 100% better yet)

then on to Costco.

And the bank, can't forget the bank

Freddies?  Need present for dh

Somehow in there I have to figure out how to get a last Christmas gift for dd without her seeing.

Ack!  I am so tired that I'm wandering around my house in circles.  First I lost the checks I needed to take to the bank.  I finally found them in my purse.  I don't remember putting them there.  Then I went to get something else and saw half of my meds just sitting on the counter.  I took half of them and forgot to finish taking the rest. . .   Now I've taken them.  Then I couldn't remember where I put my list. . .   I am finally out the door.  I think.

4 hours of errands with dd ended with me being in a world of pain.  So much so that it was difficult driving home.  Dd called when we were almost home and alerted dh who was there with ds to unload the car and get me up into my armchair.  I'm doing a bit better after dinner but not much.  Dh has offered to get that one last small present for dd.  Thank goodness for websites where I can show him exactly what I was going to get her.   :001_smile: Bedtime is earlier tonight and I think there will be a hot bath in there somewhere.

Oh Jean. I hope you get a good night's sleep.

I am home. dd2 was too tired for water polo, so we got home a bit earlier. Dh took care of the car and we are waiting to see if the person will pay cash or we will have to involve insurance. He thinks she might refuse to pay for a rental, but I am firm. I will be without my car for 9 days. I need a car. I was not at fault even a little bit. I was not even in my car!

And I really don't like driving dh's car (it's a stick and annoying in traffic).

I have to go in and talk to dh. I begged for a few minutes by myself and I think I have used up my time.

Have a good night everyone!

Jean--praying you have a restful night!

I haven't been on for a couple of days, but I'd like to put down what I did and still need to do. We have Christmas with my mom tomorrow. She will be leaving the rehab facility for the day and going to my sister's house. She goes the liver specialist's office on Friday, but she is seeing a physician's assistant, so we don't know if we'll get a prognosis or not.

slept in

breakfast

made holiday menu

made a list of gifts I still needed to get/make

made a shopping list

went out shopping

ate lunch out

made apple pie pecan cakes, pretzel candies, and swamp crackers for neighbors

took gifts to neighbors

made deviled eggs (I've been craving them all day!)

played Ticket to Ride (gave it dh for his birthday Saturday)

still to do:

wrap gifts for my family get together tomorrow

wrap kids' gifts

If anyone is still awake, I'm appreciate if you shoot a prayer or two up for me.  I was telling dh goodnight and he said "What's wrong with your mouth?"  My tongue is so swollen it is hard to talk.  And I keep biting my tongue.  My throat is still so swollen too.  (It's this virus.)  I'm going to bed but I might be in too much pain to sleep much.
