Need Christmas craft ideas

I'd love to begin working on some new Christmas crafts...something I could do with my 10 yr. old and maybe even my husband.

What holiday paper craft, wood craft, sewing, painting, baking etc. are you starting? I need ideas!

In past years, we have painted many store bought Christmas ceramics, and baked our own dough ornaments. I really would like to try something new.

TIA

This year we are using Starbella type yarns and knitting scarves.

It is super easy to do.  I've made some quilted pot holders too.  Dds are making holiday bracelets.

We always do some gifts in a jar.  Brownies, cocoa, and scented bath salts are favorites to make and give.

We do some baking for local friends.  There are a few folks I know that don't bake much for themselves, so I make pumpkin bread or spice bread for them.

I'm looking for directions to make "quilted" ornaments using styrofoam balls and Christmas material.  We used to do this when I was a child, but I can't remember how it was done.  As soon as I find it, we will make some of those too

If you sew, I made some burlap stockings last year. They were super easy, cheap, & I thought they turned out really cute. We stuffed them with different items depending on who they were for (think oranges & dollar store items).  I have an embroidery machine, but you can stencil on them too or applique. Here are a couple that I made. I also attached a homemade ornament to the top of the stocking.

i also made a lot of burlap runners & beach bags made out of terry cloth towels. Those would be a little more difficult with a 10 year old and husband.  But if you sew at all, they were really cheap and easy projects & made really nice gifts.  The runners especially were quick projects.

I have never seen swirl paint glass ornaments. What kind of paint? How do you do it?

It sounds really neat. Would love to try it.

I bought some wood ornaments at AC Moore and we will paint them soon. I also have those clear round glass ornaments that we can swirl various colors of paint around the inside.

Last year, I got a plain wooden clipboard at AC Moore, bought some mod podge, gathered family pictures, and made my spouse a clipboard w/ pics to hang on the office wall (I did both sides).

This year, I am knitting coasters with Christmassy colored yarn. I've also made gifts in a jar (soup mix, mostly).

We printed on brown paper bags to make wrapping paper every year. We have cheap foam Christmas shapes, stampers. We dip them in poster paints and print the cut open bags. I start asking for the bags a few weeks before we need them when I'm grocery shopping. Now there were always years when a Christmas picture was painted on them. :D

We used to make gift tags for our gifts every year.  I put out pre-cut tags or pieces of card stock, glitter, colored pens and Christmas stamps and let everyone go to town.  There were no rules other than that the "to" and "from" must be legible.  When the kids were small, the tags were a mess, but it was still a lot of fun, and no one ever complained about the glitter trail our gifts made.

small rag wreaths/candle rings- bend a wire hanger into a circle, tie strips of fabric 1 1/2 inches by about 5 inches all around circle.  I made a bunch of them this year. Cute!

One year we made beautiful homemade knitting needles out of wooden dowels, made really cute sculpy tops and packaged them with a skein of yarn and a beginner pattern.

Another year we made glass tiles gifts, earring, keychains and such like ones we saw on Etsy, bought all the materials off Etsy and had a ball with them.

Our supplies came from here http://www.etsy.com/shop/CandytilesStudio

We had such fun printing out pictures of old favorite children's books, movies, photos  and everyone loved them.
