theYoungerMrsWarde
I wanted to share the post I wrote this morning for my blog. I kept crying writing it, so here's a trigger warning for those who have had preemies or difficulty bonding with new babies. And here's a new picture of Lady Bug (being held by Nana) to make up for making you sad. :) (There are more pictures on the blog post.) craftyerin
I'm so glad she's on her way home! My daughter spent 10 days in NICU and we had a hard time with bonding when she was an infant. Her twin brother came home with me at 2 days, so we never had a gap in our time together. I felt so guilty that I felt bonded to him and not to her. It was a hard road for sure. I hope you're able to get to know each other quickly! I certainly understand the frustration.

BakersDozen
More than anything the bonding issue was my most difficult struggle with the twins. They will be 2yo in September and I still don't hold them like I did my other dc (although I do hold them there isn't a closeness that I had with the other dc) and I am not bonded to them the same. It really stinks. I keep waiting for the day I feel "bonded" to them and hope it happens before they realize there is something different. :( Sigh...it's still hard and makes me cry, darn it all. Cindy in FL.
She is just beautiful! I had a 33 weeker and it was just so difficult/different. Hugs to you and I'm so glad she's home!
Sparkle
Thank you for sharing that post. Your dd is beautiful (seriously, what a cutie!) and I'm glad she's home. I did not have any preemie children, but I did have C-sections and I remember that feeling of unreality, like "is he really mine?" and that disconnect. It took me a while to feel like a "real" mother. Anyway, I hope bonding goes full guns with you now. :grouphug:
