What do yo do with pencils when the eraser is gone?

What we actually do:

Use a hand held eraser always, because they work better than the built-in erasers anyway.

 

This. Preferably the white ones. Although the brains are tempting.

 

Well, truth be told, my favorite pencils in the whole, wide world are some Lyra cedar ones that The Magic Cabin once included as a freebie with an order.

 

We love Lyra colored pencils too.

Cap erasers. The girls hate the shaped themed erasers and can hardly keep track of their pencils let alone a big pink eraser. Plus I'm just too cheap to toss a pencil when the eraser runs out. The girls use them a lot!

They didn't even sell them, so I thought that was just mean. LOL I never could find them for a price that didn't make me faint, so I just use them for special occasions. Well, I've never had to worry about that because the minute my kids get a new pencil, the eraser is bitten off. We always use a hand-held eraser that I keep in my pocket or it would get lost.

(Sigh).

My pencils all get lost before they're even half way used up, so I've never encountered this problem... :wacko:

Pencil cap or a hand held eraser all the way. Why waste it? My kids like it when the pencils get all tiny anyway.

We only use mechanical pencils with refillable erasers. My kida and I hate wood pencils. They never stay sharp and the erasers always run out before the pencil.

How can so many people have eraser issues? I find most erasers can erase pencil. I occasionally get a a smeary one, but not often. How hard are you guys pushing down that you need special erasers ???

I buy more Pink Pearls. Lots of them. My kids are so used to using Pearls that they still grab for them right after I've purchased brand new pencils that still have erasers.

My older is just like me unfortunately. We write hard enough to see the indentation when you flip the paper over. I have broken quite a few "ball" of ball point pens.

We use Lyra triangular pencils that don't have erasers.

 

You can compost pencils? What about the lead?

Other I never ever buy pencils with erasers on the top. I always get Staedtler. I buy hand held erasers
