Arcadia
Was finding an example for SKL and found these. They are California edition (California List of Gratis Instructional Materials, publisher website). http://www.mhschool....als/ca/fwo.html "Interactive Textbook (Grade 1-6) Interactive Textbook, Grade 1 Interactive Textbook, Grade 2 Interactive Textbook, Grade 3 Interactive Textbook, Grade 4 Interactive Textbook, Grade 5 Interactive Textbook, Grade 6 Reading and Writing in Science (Grades 1-6) Reading and Writing in Science, Grade 1 Reading and Writing in Science, Grade 2 Reading and Writing in Science, Grade 3 Reading and Writing in Science, Grade 4 Reading and Writing in Science, Grade 5 Reading and Writing in Science, Grade 6 Activity Lab Book (Grades 1-6) Activity Lab Book, Grade 1 Activity Lab Book, Grade 2 Activity Lab Book, Grade 3 Activity Lab Book, Grade 4 Activity Lab Book, Grade 5 Activity Lab Book, Grade 6" ETA: Grade 6 is Earth Science and is not hard to understand for younger children. Not too shabby, LOL. Thanks for the link!

Arcadia
Kindly if you know which resource book contains the answers to the Mcgraw hill Science workbooks? I don't know where the answers are. However if you are looking for science workbooks with answers, you can try the thunderbolt science workbooks which are for 4th-6th grade but can be used easily for younger. There are suggested answers in the teachers guides. http://www.thunderboltkids.co.za/
tomandlorih
The link to South Carolina.. http://macmillanmh.com/instructional_materials/sc/fwo.html These do NOT line up with the CA texts but I thought the test prep workbooks might be good evaluation tools for my dd.

Thanks They actually are already in .pdf when you bring them up. So, click on the one you want and wait until it comes up, then if you hover your mouse in the lower right hand corner a little menu bar should pop up and there will be a disk icon. You just click on that and save it where ever you wish. I don't know if there are the Florida versions, I can only bring up the CA and SC ones with a Google search. Sorry :(

tomandlorih
What exactly did you Google? I tried all kinds of things. I am thinking they don't exist like this for FL. I think the original post talked about how CA had passed a law that required the new editions of textbooks to be published on their website somewhere .. so I think that it is unique to CA (with the exception of SC? but the textbooks are not on there for SC). I'm not sure even if CA is required to post all new textbooks or if that was just for a time or what. But to your question, I think the original post linked to a page that said something like California List of Gratis Instructional Materials.. so I used variations of that. You could also just google Online science textbooks for Florida or any number of combinations of that.. include the grade or whatever too. It's amazing what will come up sometimes. Good luck and if you find anything interesting... =D

Guest rachel613
Hi- New here; just signed up so I could let you know that the link given above is not the interactive textbook- it is a PDF. If you want the online interactive textbook, which allows your child to listen to the text, and watch related videos (but does not have the same test questions as the "reading and writing in science activity book, though it does have review questions), here is the link: Go to: www.eduplace.com/eservices Username: sciencetustinone Password: science This is for grade 1. But if you want other grades, just type in "sciencetustingtwo" meaning the word at the end should be the grade you want. Enjoy! Found it on a search, and I'm happy to be able to share the info. Guest hautboishavoc
When I was looking through the pdfs to evaluate their usefulness, it seems the page numbers referred to in the Reading and Writing book for first grade (i.e. Poems about giraffes in another book) don't seem to correspond to any of the pages in the textbook. Am I mistaken, or is there another set of books needed to be able to do all of the science literature assignments?

MommytoFour
I think those page numbers correspond to the actual Science: A Closer Look textbook pages rather the interactive textbooks. But most of those poems referenced in Grade 1 are easy to find in other books. (I haven't looked further than Grade 1).
