What is CHC?

I would look at Mystery Science and add in your own faith. It is open and go and very easy to implement. It will teach a love for science and covers a variety of topics.

I emailed the owner twice with question. Took over a week to get a reply and it didn't even answer my question. I was looking at science. I did order one or two of the books as they looked good enough to keep. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Any BiblioPlan users out there?
coloradomomof5 replied to coloradomomof5's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
Thx! Why did you leave and why r you returning? What spines did/are you using? It's our first go at it. We have SOTW, Usborne and KF. I love the books lists. I want to do it all but know that will "kill the puppy". I love the idea of the younger book and the Cool Histories, maps and coloring pages... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Curriculum for a Mom who needs help

Tutor? I'm not trying to be smart... just how we do it once the hit middle. Or an online class will lighten the load. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
We use FixIt grammar and I thought we would add in diagramming a sentence or two a week. Does anyone know if someone has already created this wheel? Or a good resource to teach how to diagram? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am looking for online business classes for my 9th and 10th grade boys. They would prefer AYOP. I would like an assessment of completion at the end. What are your favorite sources. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is Fix it Grammar really enough?

this. Our year with HAKE has been a waste. We are going to try FixIt fast for bigs and slower for littles. We will add in our own diagramming. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Is Fix it Grammar really enough?

I am wondering if anyone wants to weigh back in on this topic. We are starting next week. We have done Hake and They kept repeating the same errors. Not internalizing the grammar. I am hoping it crosses over to their editing and writing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
What about Math TT Writing online class for the big 3 and WWE for the littles SOTW for the 7th on down--audible and then the older two can narrate the Kingfisher and Usborne. One day written and one day oral. Add it lit that goes with the time period choosing from the Sonlight and other lists. Do as many audio as possible. Fixit Grammar for everyone Mystery science High schooler. I got the local schools requirements.m and followed that. We did a few classes at home and a few at a local Home school coop. Math home Biology coop Spanish coop Orchestra coop English home Geography/govt home I hade a few hard and a few easy. Just a thought. We school 9th, 8th, 5,3,1 and prek (SN) over here. Gotta find what works. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The intermediate books I "think" are the classroom version. There are fewer lessons but cover the same material. I moved a child to them because they have more visual examples. I also bought the workbook that has hints and planned out space to work each problem. My kiddo was NOT ready for the soft skill of copying the problem to a notebook and then working the problem. The workbook helps to cut down that step. The warmup book makes the daily review manageable. Now it happens daily. Overall I have been happy. I see success that I was not seeing with the older grade 3 program. I plan to use grade 4 when she finishes grade 3. We learn two lessons a day and work the problems to the second lesson and are no longer doing math at 3 pm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thx. Been there. Done that. Looking for live and longer assignments. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What is your favorite online class for writing and WHY? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We use and live the Hake grammar. My older kids did the writing with it. Actually did each essay type 3 times this year. My 5th grader did a theme book from IEW, she needed more structure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What is your favorite source for online geometry? We have had Saxon Algebra 1 and are part way through 2. I am not looking for a debate if there is enough geometry in Saxon. We need a year of geometry. Those are the requirements. Ideas please? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Interesting. We have a 3rd grader using FLL and she is the only one in the family who can identify parts of speech when we do Latin as a group. I like Saxon grammar. Independent and thorough. I feel like something is missing in FixIt! As I own most of it but can't bring the kids to use it. Maybe as a summer review or and off year for grammar... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
