  1. Wait! How do you read in the shower? Don't your books get wet? And how would you turn the pages? :confused1:
  2. I thought it was just my step-mom that does this! She also asks for our bows back. I like wrapping her gifts because she then doesn't have a bag to add to her stash. Yep, I'm evil like that! :coolgleamA:
  3. Weird zombie thread! :zombie: I guess someone was reading the thread about reading in the bathroom. I never realized so many kept their Reader's Digest in the bathroom!
  4. Is it against policy to share the interesting things here? I'm interested but not enough to pay $5.
  5. Exactly! I have a daily planner that lists everything we need to do that day. I like having all that information in one place so I can easily see what we are going to do. And there is no thought involved! All I have to do is follow the plan and everything will get done. I admit, it does take some time to get that all planned out. But once it is done I don't have to think about anything!! I have all of our books collected on one shelf. I have science supplies in a box and the planner tells me if I need anything perishable for demonstrations that week. Art supplies are already assembled and ready for us. I have a document telling me what library books I need and on what day so I can easily request them ahead of time. I even have some lapbooks planned for the next year and I added into the planner what components need to be done on what day. My daily planner is just a word document that I created that lists subjects in order they should be done that day and what needs to be done for each one. Each day gets it own page and I check off things as we complete them. But my daily planner has no dates so we can easily take off a day if something unexpected comes up. It is such a relief to have everything printed, assembled, organized and planned! :hurray:
  6. We have a no countertops rule but the cat doesn't always obey. :glare: She is usually trying to get to the plants that reside in the window above the sink. She also gets up on the table every once in a while. I say, "Kitty, what are you doing?" And she always looks at me like "oops, you caught me." and she jumps down.
  7. I heard that only neutered females get that low-hanging, swaying stomach thing. Do you know what I mean? :confused1: I neutered my first boy at 6 months (when I got him) with no problems. My girl was spayed by rescue league sometime before 2 months and her belly practically dragged on the floor. I waited too long with my last little girl (after 6 months) and she ended up having two heats before I could get her fixed. Yikes! That was terrible! She has a small belly now but I've been trying to limit her diet so she doesn't get too overweight and make the problem worse.
  8. I'm in! I actually started this last week, but I've been going pretty slow because I've been making DD go with me. I figured it can't hurt for her to be able to run a 5k, right? And I don't feel comfortable going out for a run and leaving her alone in the house.
  9. The Stanley Theater is in Jersey City, New Jersey. Maybe she plans to see that. Here's an article and a video about the renovation of that historic building.
  10. I have a shih tzu/bichon mix. She is a good dog and people are always asking if they can have her. But... she is super hyper. Picture 8 lbs of hyperactivity running at top speed around the yard! She is not food obsessed. She loves treats, but in the morning she will sit so I can give her her food but she will then go play with her toys without eating. She doesn't shed and hardly ever barks. She is really independent so will not always obey. Sometimes I call her in and she will just sit down in the yard because she doesn't want to do what I want. And she loves people. I mean anyone and everyone! Not a good guard dog!
  11. I've never returned a book because of the condition. If its actual condition doesn't match what it was listed as I contact the seller and 100% of the time they refund my money and tell me to keep the book.
  12. I know some people get all crazy about old threads but I'm glad this one got bumped up. Lots of really good ideas!!
  13. Yes. I like having concrete proof we are doing a good job and DD is not behind her peers. (Yeah 99%!!)
  14. So what's the consensus on "Shut the front door!!"? But I do wish I could get out of the habit of saying, "oh my god." I've gradually transitioned to "oh my goodness" and then "oh my." I wonder what I use to say before all that?
  15. Interesting. My DD has been in ballet for two years now. She wears underwear under her leotard. I wasn't sure if she should or not, but I figured her teacher or other students would let her know if it wasn't the right thing to do.
