NoPlaceLikeHome
I need recommendations for pencils for everyday use that sharpen well and work well. I seem to have bad luck with pencils for my ds:( I have a few Faber Castell American Natural Pencils left that are great but I cannot seem to find them. Help!!! elegantlion
My ds likes the Dixon Ticonderoga.
Gisel_le
We only buy Ticonderoga. :)
Acorn Island
:iagree: Mirado Black Warrior. Someone posted here a couple of weeks ago that they had found a good price on them at Walmart online. These are the only pencils I will buy -- easy to sharpen, no broken leads as you are writing.
Bug's Mom
Another Black Warrior fan here.
Diviya
I love the plain Staples brand pencils. I used to like Ticonderoga, but the erasers stink. The staples pencils have good erasers and write well also. I've never tried Black Warriors.
LaxMom
Another Black Warrior fan here. Yep, the Hive converted me. I order them on Amazon (I'll blame that habit on the Hive, too :D)
NoPlaceLikeHome
I will have to check out the Black Warrior Pencils:)

NoPlaceLikeHome
Any good small, hand-held sharpeners to go along with these pencils?
my2boysteacher
We loved Ticonderoga until I discovered most of them have nasty chemicals in them (the micro ban ones). I threw all those out and just got some cheap, natural wood pencils from T@rget. We tried the black warrior ones, and I wasn't that impressed.
Caitilin
These are mechanical--I know, but bear with me here--they are 0.9 mm lead, so actually really thick. We are in week 3 of school with three different writers, none of them careful or patient, and we haven't had a single broken lead yet. I really, really like them--I bought a gross. :blushing:
mom4him
I will have to check out the Black Warrior Pencils:) I just ordered some. I used to use Ticonderoga but after I found out they treat them with a harmful chemical I went back to blaw pencils.:tongue_smilie: I have really missed the Ticonderoga. I hope the Black Warrior will be equil.

TrixieB
I like Ticonderoga, preferably the ones with black wood & silver paint. As for mechanical pencils, Pentel e-Sharp 0.7 are the household favorite. I prefer Pentel's lead for mechanical pencils. Papermate lead is squeaky.
