swellmomma
Do you ever google your own name to see what is out there in the world is said about you? Do you think celebs do the same thing? Threads like the kilt ones where names are thrown about etc. Do you ever wonder if say Russell Crowe decides to google his own name and stumbles into our hive he will be wondering what the heck these cracked out homeschool moms are on. Do you think if they stumbled into our midst they just hang around and lurk and find out what other craziness we have going on just for Sh.. and giggles? And then do you think they end up saying to someone irl so these ladies on the "hive" said blah blah blah.... and really they have become just like us in that regard... Just thinking out loud here people, sometimes those random thoughts refuse to stay inside my brain.
Mrs Mungo
Well, if Ryan Gosling ever googles "Ryan Gosling cupcake," then we are in trouble for sure. LOL Both my maiden and married names are fairly common. Most of the hits that show up under either name are not me.
GailV
I google my name, which is unique enough that all of the hits are about me or else someone I know. I thought that was sort of a standard piece of advice to check up on that once in a while. Whereas the hits about me fill a page at most, celebrities would get thousands of pages. I think they'd have to be pretty bored to make it all the way past oodles of hits on the dozens of big gossip sites to find our little ol' discussions. GailV
The Hive is on the second page of google hits, if you google "Ryan Gosling cupcake." Just sayin'. ;) I thought google tailored hits according to your past searches and where you "hang out" online. Or something like that. Maybe that's one of those things you can opt out of? (This was possibly something I meant to reset on my computer but forgot to do -- wasn't this in the news several months ago?) As to the odds of someone adding the word "cupcakes" to their name in a google search, well, who's to say? It IS a pretty controversial topic, so I could see why a publicist would be tracking fans' thoughts on cupcakes, celebrity gossip involving cupcakes, and so forth. Tap
Since this is THE place to hang out on the net, what makes you think they aren't already here? LOL Hey Ryan, hows it hang'n?:seeya:
Delirium
The person who comes up when I google myself is a guy from an 80s band. I don't bother anymore :)

theYoungerMrsWarde
If you google my name you get a lot of links about a pop-culture/cult-like following of a 90's tv show. I was born first. :glare: :toetap05:
justLisa
I have never googled my name. I just did and it seems several of them are doctors.
brandigirl
Well when I google my name my awards in middle school and duke tip come up and for some reason some of my emails:001_huh: kinda scary but I am the only one with my name :)
MrsBasil
If you google my name, you get me or a woman who keeps getting DUIs in Florida.
Catwoman
The person who comes up when I google myself is a guy from an 80s band. I don't bother anymore :) Wow, that's so cool. I had no idea you were in an 80's band. :D If I google my name, a porn star comes up.It's not me. I swear!! :tongue_smilie: Suuuuuuuuuuuuure it's not you. ;) If you google my name, you get me or a woman who keeps getting DUIs in Florida. And exactly how many has "she" gotten in Colorado? :tongue_smilie: I'm so boring. I didn't get any interesting results when I tried Googling myself. If I had the name of a singing, dancing, drunken porn star, at least my old high school classmates would have something to wonder about if they ever took the time to see what I've been up to. SKL
My name is not all that common, but my first name is a common middle name, so a bunch of other people come up when I google myself. Funniest thing I found about myself? This educational blurb about penguins that I had written for a job (at a toy company) back in the early 1990s. It was printed in Japanese hiragana/katakana. But at the end it says "written by _[me]__" in English. LOL. I'm also listed as a board member on boards I quit years ago.
