JennifersLost
Okay, okay, I know I'm supposed to look on the bright side, but my first experience with the new forum is that my name is butchered. There isn't enough room for it. Bleah! I've had a crappy day and I got on for my "pick me up". I just feel like crying.
Andie
(((JGGO T H E W))) I know, I know. I'm forcing myself to post just to not be a freak that screams and runs for the chocolate chips over a message board change. Instead, I will visit awhile, then I will walk slowly and calmly, totally non freaky-outy, to the pantry for a *few* chocolate chips. That's much cooler. JennifersLost
realized most of it is because I'm not visual and I come to the board for a break from all the sites I go to for research, etc. I like clean, crisp and white. Now if I can just figure out how to get rid of all the smilies and avatars, I'll be fine!
~Rachel~
If you switch to the hybrid mode and just stick to reading the top part, or switch to the threaded mode, you might be able to avoid the smilies!
sdWTMer
I'm sorry that you're having a hard time with the change. :( I usually am not too good with change either, but I'm highly visual, so this is great for me! I love it; but understand for some that it may just make them nutso! Take care.
Liz CA
I am visual but I need a detailed user manual for everything. Spent the better part of the afternoon trying to figure out this forum. Hope they don't expect dinner tonight - I am not done exploring.

Jennifer
you can change something so you don't see avatars, sig lines, etc. HTH! Jennifer
genie
Now if I can just figure out how to get rid of all the smilies and avatars, I'll be fine! If you don't want to see all the avatars, etc., go to User CP (top left), then Edit Options (menu on left), then scroll down and unclick Show Signatures, Avatars, or Images. Remudamom
And I can't run for chocolate. Maybe some rum will help.

JennifersLost
The options menu thing did the trick - and helped me re-arrange posts, too. Perfect.
Jenileigh
and to beat it all my home board is changing to this format too. My thing is I'll never be able to quickly scan over the boards any longer. It takes pages of loading to see what alls going on and I simply don't have time for it. I get lost in the threads. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Elinor Everywhere
Rum always helps. :DHey, that's what *I* was going to say. Well, only I was going to switch it to vodka. Or rum if the drink isn't too sweet. Or gin & tonic. Or wine. Ummmm, really, that's it. :p
Susan Wise Bauer
I really had a fondness for the old format because you could just run your eyes down it...but the script was SO antiquated and full of bugs and open to spammers that we just couldn't keep it going any more. Wish I could send you some chocolate. Or something stronger.
Linda (Australia)
I really had a fondness for the old format because you could just run your eyes down it...but the script was SO antiquated and full of bugs and open to spammers that we just couldn't keep it going any more. Wish I could send you some chocolate. Or something stronger. Ah, well; we're supposed to learn to think 'out of the box', right? Of course, the chocolate and brandy does help. We'll get there!
Mrs. Readsalot
Breathe deep and repeat change is good...change is good. OK I am feeling a bit better. I will also miss being able to visually run down a thread and see the responses, but I can understand the need for the change.
genie
Or gin & tonic. Have you ever noticed that gin & tonics taste a lot like you would imagine that a christmas tree would? Someone pointed that out to me once and I haven't been able to enjoy them ever since. Oops. Hope I don't ruin it for you!
