Negin
Kleine Hexe, I hope you don't mind my starting this thread. I know that you're busy with house guests and the holidays. I need this thread and the motivation, so I decided to start it, and again, hope that's okay. Today, I did: 5-Day Fit Trouble Zone Solutions - 30 minutes of yoga Tip/reminder for the day for those who may be interested: The more I have read and keep reading, the more I realize that waist measurement is KEY. As a good friend once wrote: "My goal is to get my waist under the 33" -- Everything I read leads me to believe that the most important factor for health is your waist size-- not an arbitrary number on a scale. In my reading I have discovered that the fat around your mid-section actually acts as an organ--secreting hormones and disrupting your health. It adheres to your internal organs. It is not good. That is what I want gone." Yep, me too! :D
Hoggirl
Monday: Jillian Michael's NMTZ with 8-lb weights (except the first circuit which was done with 5-lbers) Tuesday: Haven't started yet! Playing on the computer instead. :D Plan to do BBL High & Tight and Bum Bum. Negin, did you find out what was causing your ds's limp??? :grouphug:
Negin
Negin, did you find out what was causing your ds's limp??? :grouphug: Thank you so much for caring. :grouphug: He's slowly improving, but it'll take a while. The specialist never gave us a diagnosis or told us the cause or anything. Just said to rest and to allow time to pass. The GP had prescribed something, so he's on that. So it may be a mix of the Rx meds and rest that are helping him. It'll take a while. Thanks again. :)

Negin
I don't recall who recommended Ellen...but thank you!! Tina, I'm slowly building up an Ellen collection and liking her a lot so far. :) I think it was Kleine Hexe who recommended her. Do you ladies mind if I join in? Denise, yes, as Xuzi said, the more the merrier. :D Today, I did: Kari Anderson: Center Floor - there are 3 separate chapters. I did the first one - the Standing Floor Challenge - about 30 minutes - like this DVD so far. Lots of balance work, which I like to focus on as I get older. Reminder - very important for me :tongue_smilie:: Practice putting down your utensils between every few bites, describing to yourself the flavors and textures in your mouth. Hoggirl
Wednesday: Jackie Warner's Power Circuit Training with 10-lb weights I need to get off my BUM BUM and hit BBL! Plan to do High & Tight and Bum Bum.
Xuzi
Bob Harper's Super Strength DVD today. My DVD player decided yesterday to "be nice" and pick and choose which DVD's it will play, and this is one of the few that it will consistently play. I wanted to do JM's Ripped in 30, but it's decided it doesn't like that one. :glare:

No workout I need to use the elliptical more often. Sorry that Tuesday was not a good day. Hopefully the rest of your week is better. :grouphug: Wednesday: Jackie Warner's Power Circuit Training with 10-lb weightsI need to get off my BUM BUM and hit BBL! Plan to do High & Tight and Bum Bum. I would love to get both, but at the moment I just have too many DVDs. Too many DVDs and too little time. I'll get them if the price goes down at Total Fitness DVDs. :D Bob Harper's Super Strength DVD today. My DVD player decided yesterday to "be nice" and pick and choose which DVD's it will play, and this is one of the few that it will consistently play. I wanted to do JM's Ripped in 30, but it's decided it doesn't like that one. Your DVD player makes me giggle. ;) Sorry if I don't sound very sympathetic. I can relate. You just made it sound funny. Today I did a very short workout: Kari Anderson: Center Floor - 3rd Chapter in this DVD - Lengthening Stretch and am about to do a few other moves - using few weights, stability ball, etc. Tip today from French Women Don't Get Fat: Learning that less can be more and discovering HOW one can eat everything in moderation are keys. So are exertion in proportion to calories consumed and a much more plentiful intake of water. We no longer work eighteen hours a day in a mine or on a farm. Nevertheless, most of us eat 10 to 50 percent more than needed, not to survive but to satisfy psychological hunger. The trick is to manage and gratify one's appetite, while determining how, when, and what to reduce.

LG Gone Wild
Thursday - BJJ and some MMA. I rolled with a 275 pound man and a 240 lbs man. At a couple points I was actually underneath the 240 lbs holding him up. I weigh 118lbs. That was quite an adventure.

Xuzi
Oh, I forgot to mention the Yoga I did last night too. I got the Serpentine DVD by (*awesome* belly dancer!) for Christmas and did two of the yoga strength-building routines she has on there, as well as some of the movement drills. I felt as graceful as a giraffe, but hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon. If I can learn to move even a quarter as gracefully as she does, I'll be satisfied! LG Gone Wild
Does your husband have anything to say about that? :D I did ask him once or twice because some men won't let their wives/girlfriends practice BJJ. He told me that I tend to do what I want anyway. He also makes comments about the silliness of that kind of risk taking as I can get really squashed. :tongue_smilie: As long as his needs are not neglected too much, he just rolls he eyes. He wrestled in high school so it helps a little bit. Smaller woman on bottom, much larger aggressor on top is sort of how it goes down IRL, kwim. Out of all the MA disciplines, ones that focus on knife and ground are probably going to be the most useful for a woman. Knife to ward off the attacker, BJJ for plan B once the woman is disarmed and the aggressor gets his meaty paws on her.
