ThisIsTheDay
I want to make with my kids. It looks like she's using heavy paper. Where would I find such a thing, quickly, that won't cost a fortune? Wrapping paper is too flimsy. What she's using in the video looks similar to wallpaper. 6packofun
It looks even thicker than cardstock, so it might be chipboard with the pretty designed paper glued to each side. You can find this at any craft store like Michael's or Joann's or Hobby Lobby or Pat Catan's. :) Cardstock is pretty sturdy and still might work, though, AND it comes in pretty patterns! Alte Veste Academy
We made big bells just like those balls using scrapbook paper last year. It worked very well and you can find a Christmas pack of paper for cheap. I can get a big book of 12x12 paper at Hobby Lobby for $10 on sale. The kind with the heavy designs can be quite thick. You'll have lots of variety too. ETA: We used glue sticks. I don't think the paper we used for the bells was thick enough to stand the glue gun but we also didn't use the thickest scrapbook paper we have. ChrisB
:iagree:I was going to say in the scrapbooking section. If the paper is one sided, then you can glue two large pieces together and then cut them. I did this with glitter card stock from Hobby Lobby. It had no pattern, but it was all glittery in Christmas colors. It looks very nice.
Catwoman
We made something similar using old Christmas cards. The cards were the perfect thickness. If you don't have cards or the time to get to a craft store for "real" supplies, you could also glue pretty wrapping paper to index cards or manila folders. LinRTX
In the comments it says it is scrapbooking paper (12x12 sheets). Linda
datgh
It looks like scrapbooking paper to me. The paper that comes in the pads of Christmas designs can be pretty heavy. Michaels has them 60% off today.
ThisIsTheDay
Thank you. I've been wondering about this for a few days. I post here and have answers in minutes! Maybe I'll have time to run to Michael's before Christmas tree decorating today, and this will help with my plea for festivity suggestions (another thread). :001_smile::001_smile:
myfunnybunch
We made something similar using old Christmas cards. The cards were the perfect thickness. I was going to suggest this as well. It's a great way to re-use some of those lovely cards. Thanks for posting the link. I think we're going to make some of these today!
