There are a few things they condensed a bit because it would have taken too long to go into all the back story, but overall they stayed really true to the storyline and the book. The acting was *amazing*, and I liked how the actors brought the characters I loved to life. But I wasn't as impressed with the film as I was the book. MariannNOVA Posted November 30, 2011 Share Posted November 30, 2011 I thought the movie was excellent -- I was thrilled that the story lines in the mnovie had not become incredibly confusing and convoluted -- this was avoided apparently b/c the screenplay DID NOT include every single story line from the book - which worked really well. The movie had the MEAT of the story -- just what you needed to get the rral gist which is the story of the women who work for these families. I have a friend who was terribly disappointed b/c the movie did leave out some minor story lines - I explained that not every single story line could be included - but she disagreed.
