simka2
I spent the day at the beach. I am fried :tongue_smilie:. Now what?
rhrice3
Advil or Aleve to start with, and then a cream with glycerin and dimethicone. Aloe, also, feels good but I am not sure that it does anything for moistening the skin like CerVe, Gold Bond Ultimate Restoring Lotion, etc Good luck, ReneeR

kewb
Distilled white vinegar. You will smell like a salad but it takes the sting out.
Perry
Ibuprofen and aloe vera.
~Tara~
Tea works like vinegar, taking the sting out. Just brew up some tea, let it cool, then soak a washcloth in it, gently wring it out to use as a compress on affected areas. Or, put it in a spray bottle and spritz as needed. *aaah* Keep it in the fridge for extra cooling. TracieT
Aloe will make it feel better, but keep in mind that it is an exfoliator, so you will probably peel. The key to not peeling is to keep it moisturized. Virgin coconut oil would keep it nice and moisturized and is healing, too.

Hockey Mom
In addition to all of the other suggestions, drink plenty of water.
4ofus
milk~I know it sounds weird, but it really relieves. Get in the shower & have SO pour milk over your poor burned skin... good luck
simka2
Thanks everyone! I am starting to blister and I don't feel very good :glare:. This is not fun!
Lovemyblessings
As a redhead with white skin, my grandma taught me to go strait for the vinegar. The low Ph takes the burn away, and closes the pores- keeping infection out. Try it- you'll be glad you did!
Paz
Sorry you are feeling so bad. We use the aloe vera gel. We get ours from our local grocery store (Publix). It is a clear gel and seems to work quickly and well.
Chelli
Sounds nuts but Noxema (the old-school kind with the distinctive smell) makes a sunburn feel sooo much better and gets rid of the redness quickly. Slather it all over you nice and thick!
mom2l&j
When DH gets a bad burn I dab vinegar on with newspaper. Then keep it moisturized. Edited May 31, 2011 by mom2l&j
Peela
Fresh aloe vera from the garden.

Slather it all over you nice and thick! :iagree: I just learned the Noxema trick last year. Use it liberally and it really works. Otherwise, I've always used vinegar. WistfulRidge
As someone who burns (very badly) *through* sunscreen and clothing... ibuprofen if it is extremely painful, and lots and lots of aloe vera. If you are really lucky you have a pot with a big aloe plant in it (I miss mine...), if not the green gel is the next best thing. Lukewarm baths are also good. Vinegar if you can stand the smell (I can't. At all. So I usually don't use it... but it does work!)
In The Great White North
Lavender essential oil (smells better than vinegar) Put 10-15 drops of the essential oil of English lavender and a half cup of water in a spray bottle and spray on the sunburn.
