Jean in Newcastle
I got a good-bye e-mail from someone I know. I didn't know they were going anywhere:confused: Do you think it's a rapture thing? And what does this say about the fact that I'm getting a good-bye e-mail? :toetap05: I guess I'll inquire as to where they are going. . . tomorrow. meggie
What did it say? Did it say when they would be back? If it's obviously not a joke, I'd be worried about suicide.....
C_l_e_0..Q_c
If it's obviously not a joke, I'd be worried about suicide..... That was my first thought too...
Jean in Newcastle
What did it say? Did it say when they would be back? If it's obviously not a joke, I'd be worried about suicide..... Ack. My mind didn't even go there. . . no, no destination stated and no return date. . . but it's not someone I know well. (It was sent to a number of mutual friends and I'm not one of the "in crowd" so they might all know the details while I don't, you know?) I might ask one of the others that I know a little bit better what the story is. . . This person is one who sends a lot of Christian chain mail type stuff so that's why I thought it might be a rapture thing.
chiguirre
Don't freak out! It's probably one of those May 21 is the end of the world things that's going around, not a suicide note.

Sahamamama
What's the current countdown? Is it 6 pm or something like that? I tried getting onto Family Radio ;) but the server is too busy.

The whole Rapture thing is pretty much a big pile of fodder for jokes. If it sounds despondent, I'd give the person a call anyway, or email if you don't have their phone number. Sounds like it needs some clarification at the least.
Mimm
I'm very curious how people are holding up now that the rapture hasn't happened. I looked but couldn't find any statement from Harold Camping. I think he owes his followers a HUGE apology and he needs to stop predicting anything.

Technically, they need to follow through on the consequences for false prophecy. . .
Truscifi
Hmm, did he give a time zone? It is 5:40 here, maybe I should go get my towel.
twoxcell
He said it would be 6pm at each and every time zone. A large earthquake followed by the rapture. Basically a rolling rapture:lol:! It is past 6pm now in many times zones though.

Audrey
Alright I see your second link now thanks! No problem. I highly recommend reading the book, it makes for great reading on a Rapture weekend, especially. :D
Tree House Academy
Well, it is 6:03 here in TN and I appear to have NOT been raptured. Neither have my kids or my husband. I think this means, *gasp* that perhaps Mr. Camping was WRONG. Of course, the book of Matthew told us that a long time ago with the whole "not even the angels or the Son will know the hour..." Truscifi
It is 6:05 now and I'm still here. No earthquakes either, so I'm thinking I wasn't just passed over. Oh well, at least I have a freshly laundered towel! :D
