*Please* I don't drink coffee. How much coffee do I use for 12 c?

Recommended Posts

Really though, Folgers decaf...... I don't think it'll matter too much if you don't get the measurment right :lol: Sorry, I couldn't help it.

Do you have *any idea* how hard it is for a perfectionist (like me) to let go of the idea that I should be serving better coffee than this?? :tongue_smilie:

Ah, but I am a coffee drinker... I cringe for you!

I use a heaping tablespoon per 2 cups of water, but I have a good coffee pot. See it isn't just about the coffee, it is also about the pot!

No added pressure, though!!!! :lol::lol::lol:

It's funny... because it's true :smilielol5:

Mr. Ellie, who is meticulous about his coffee, says that "1 cup" actually equals 6 ounces, not 8. He uses 1 scoop (which is about 1 TBS) of coffee per 1 cup of water (1 cup being 6 ounces). He uses Folgers, and a Hamilton Beach Brewmaster; people rave about his coffee, including people who say they don't like Folgers.:D

:iagree::iagree:

6 oz. is a "cup" for coffee. I use this amount both for grounds and for beans to be ground.

I have a cheap coffeemaker, but grind my beans each pot. I've found over the years that this works nicely for me. I get compliments on my coffee. I use Eight O'Clock mostly, but shop where there's a high turnaround.

Is this helping, or are you more confused than ever now? :tongue_smilie:

Not hard enough :D

Well, surely the special dessert layout will make up for the coffee? :001_huh:

Coconut cheesecake with bittersweet chocolate ganache

Strawberry swirl cheesecake made with home-grown berries

Flourless chocolate cake with chocolate ganache glaze

Peanut butter chocolate mousse cake

Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting

homemade english toffee

freshly whipped cream for those who might want to add it to...whatever...

What if I set out some things to add to the coffee?

Kahlua?

Irish Cream?

Frangelico?

Rum?

Bourbon?

Brandy?

Do people ever add such things? :bigear:

Oh my yes, the dessert layout will definitely distract from...well, everything if I was there! And yes, people do add such things to their coffee. Also, there are some nice flavored creamers for people who don't drink. And dh and I occasionally make our own 'flavored coffee' by adding half a cinnamon stick or vanilla bean to the grounds while they brew.

Really though, most people who want coffee are satisfied with whatever you have.

The scoop I bought, which was hanging up near the coffee section at HEB is 2 T.

Oh,my, yes. That dessert list has my mouth watering. Some of the fresh whipped cream in the coffee (and kahlua) would be lovely, too.
