Amy loves Bud
I'm in the midst of making pies, and I was wondering: What do you do with the crust trimmings after you fit the crust to the pie pan? I like to roll them in cinnamon and sugar and eat them. How about you?
Chris in VA
Well, I don't make pies, but my mom makes a little pie with them-- and it's ready sooner, so my dad gets to have a piece sooner! LOL She does a lot of baking for church functions, and sometimes he doesn't get a big pie. :D
fairfarmhand
I never have trimmings. I fold the extra edges in and make them pretty.
HRAAB
Roll out the left overs, let the girls cut shapes, bake and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Yummy!
eternalknot
I've actually never baked a pie before LOL but your idea sounds an awful lot like my favorite snack (churros). I think I'll pencil it in for later this week :) bake my first pie, blah blah blah, MAKE CHURROS with the CRUST TRIMMINGS. yummy!

Caroline
I thought you were going to ask us how to burn a pie crust. It was a cooking question I could actually answer! Oh well, back to your regularly scheduled thread.
Miss Peregrine
I never have trimmings. I fold the extra edges in and make them pretty. Same here.
cjzimmer1
I just lay the trimmings in a single layer (however, big or small they may be) and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. I've also been known to take an enitre pie crust, skip the whole make a pie step and just cut the crust into strips and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar (and of course bake it)
BeckyFL
Spread with butter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and roll up. My mom called them Doodle-do's. :) Edited November 22, 2010 by BeckyFL

Allearia
Spread with butter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and roll up. My mom called the Doodle-do's. :) This is what my mom used to do. She just called them cinnamon rolls and it wasn't until I was a teenager that I found out there was any other kind. Yum!
JoyfulMama
Spread with butter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and roll up. My mom called the Doodle-do's. :) :iagree:Yum. This is what my mom taught me to do with them... but she didn't have a fancy name for them. Oh, and it's a secret treat just for those who are baking. Shhhh! ;)
