Ravin
Here's one skit that made me laugh particularly hard, but I've been watching them on Youtube (DD watched some, too, but she's not as into history as I am). I need to find out if the show is on BBC America, or the DVDs are available or something...
Belacqua
I just looked at the one about Helen of Troy, and it portrays her rather as I've always imagined her. "Paris is dead!" "Hmmm....which one was he?"
Lisa in Jax
Have you see the "Horrible Histories" books by Terry Deary, on which the series seems to be based? DD read them in 4th/5th, and loved them. They fit right in with her dark sense of humor. ;-) Lisa
wendybird
We love the series here. There is supposed to be a wii or computer game about them as well, but I think it was not being released in the US at this time. I would love to buy the set, but we watch on Youtube for now and read the books.
Chris in VA
Dd loves to play the free HH games on the BBC website. They have Ancient Rome, The Tudors, and The Egyptians. Really fun!
yellowperch
Well, I went to youtube and played a few of these for my kids. We loved them, and look forward to more. However, I stepped away from the computer to change the baby and put him to bed. I came back to find my kids about to click on a clip from the Tudors series! Yikes! They love stuff about Henry VIII, but that would have surely been an eye-opener! woops!

We collect the books, so this was the next thing. You'd need a dvd player that can play Region 2 discs.

Mom in High Heels
OMG, those are hilarious! I could watch it all day. Helen of Troy was awesome. I personally liked the Anglo Saxon Ordeals. Ordeal by cake? Who knew?
Kathleen in VA
Ds14's favorite movie is The Great Escape so he especially likes the one about the German prison camp.

LibraryLover
We love them. There a *really* horrible one...where a 'sports' announcer' interviews Christians fighting lions in the collosieum. It's pretty funny. We like Henry & Elizabeth singing about themselves: We kill with methods foul Tudor! Each enemy a Judas At least we're not as rude as Simon Cowell. LaissezFaire
I love this one. I discoverd the HH books years ago when I was in England and we are huge fans. This is the first I have seen of the show.

We've learned about a couple of people that we had never heard of (the wife of a British Celt that led a revolt against the Romans, for example).
