Advice on where to buy pretty walking sandals? Tevas? Merrills?

I can't go another summer flopping around in flip flops when I have miles to walk. I know. Crazy.

 

Do you have a suggestion for a pretty walking sandal?

I don't know how Pretty they are, but I love my Earth Exer Fit sandles. I walked 2 miles on a nature trail and they were awesome. Planet Shoes has good prices.

When I'm not wearing my Crocs, I wear Chaco sandals. I love the look of the ones with the loop around the toe, but they don't fit my foot quite right, so I wear the Z/1 style. I'm coveting Hipthongs too, but can't justify the expense....

I like my new Merrils but they are not comfortable enough for walking. My Teva's by far are better for all day walking. My dh and dd have a Keen that looks like my Teva's and they like them a lot.

Clarks are so comfortable. I have worn mine to the amusement parks and the zoo. I even took them to Disney. They come in a hundred different styles, but this pair is similar to the sole of the pair I have:

I bought Merrils at Dillards.

 

You can get them on-line at Footsmart.

 

When I go to Disneyland, I take two pairs of Merrels and one pair of Tevas, and I wear a different pair each day (yes, we stay at Disneyland for at least three days). Teva has a couple of styles that don't look like tire treads but are still comfy.

I have these Teva sandals and absolutely love them. Mine are actually from last year and all brown; I wish they didn't last so darn long, even with being worn every single day, because I'd love to justify a new pair. :) From spring through fall, I wear them everywhere.

Ditto the Chacos -- but you have to get your feet used to them. They are a bit hard at first if you are not used to this type of foot bed.

 

I also love Dansko sandals.

I've seen Merrill's at DSW, but I can't remember if I've seen TEVA there. I've seen all sorts of walking sandals there though - you might find a good one if you have a good DSW near you.

I have these too, but in black. I wouldn't put them up there with Merrell's as far as cushy, arch-supporting comfyness. :) I do wear them a TON, but I fall off of them sometimes too. Does that make sense?

I really, really tried to like my Chacos, especially since I read so many great reviews of the shoes - and they were so expensive. I wore them one summer and my feet always hurt. Then I took them to Disney for a week and lost the feeling in my big toe for three months! I ended up wearing FitFlops for our next trip to Disney and they were GREAT!!!

 

I do think Merrills are the most comfortable walking sandle.
