Carol in Cal.
(Although we are Lutheran, I always leave the Christmas decorations up until Epiphany). Although it's Christmas, Christ is still Risen! He is still risen indeed!

KristenS
Merry Christmas y'all! We just took our stuff down from Epiphany. On a tangent, there's an Isaac Asimov short story mystery for kids that has this alternate Christmas date as the clue/solution to the mystery. It was pretty cool. milovany
Non-denominational Christian here and not clear on the Orthodox or Coptic Christmas celebration. Willing to share more? There is information on how the Orthodox celebrate Nativity here at OrthoWiki. Make sure to scroll down past the preliminary information to where the heading says, "Celebration of the feast". Very interesting! This was our first full nativity in the Orthodox church and it was just amazing. There are some Orthodox who are on the "old calendar" (Julian) and some on the "new calendar" (Gregorian). I believe there is 14 days difference between the two, so for "old calendar" Orthodox, today is Christmas. Joyous feast! Christ is born! Glorify Him!
