  1. So far I've made gingerbread, cappuccino chocolate chip cookies, and gluten free chocolate chip cookies. This weekend I'm making white chocolate-covered pretzels and cupcakes. Not sure what else I'll end up making.
  2. I love Christmas! I'm just a big kid at heart. We have lights all over the house and in bushes. I have Christmas decor in every room of the house - even the bathrooms. I'm a Christmas junkie. :)
  3. I live in a rural area. I do not like it at all. We plan to move to a large city within the next year, but the population is not as high as the survey states.
  4. Christmas is my favorite, and Halloween is a close second.
  5. We love most of what's already been mentioned, but I have to add the Garfield Christmas Special (older, animated.) It has a lot of cheesy humor, but it also has some very sweet sentiments.
  6. I am sorry. I'm sure that hurts. I would suggest moving on from this relationship. A friend should be there for you during all times. I've run into some similar type "friends" since adopting my daughter with special needs. I eventually gave up on them and that opened the door to some new and meaningful friendships. I hope the same will happen for you.
  7. So did I. My youngest is diagnosed as severely mentally insufficient and developmentally delayed with autistic tendencies. It means so much to me that this Santa did such a wonderful job with this little boy. It's something that little boy will remember forever and know that it's okay to be who he is.
  8. My dd14 (almost 15) just got a nose piercing for her 15th birthday. I have two tattoos with plans to get at least two more. We express ourselves quite well. :)
  9. Yes, we have two. One is "Stuck on You" by Lionel Richie. The other is Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get it On."
  10. I really think I'm going with OM next year for my daughter. She used OM in middle school and loved it. She learned so much and retained it well. She's in 9th grade this year. We're using Sonlight Core 100 and it is just not clicking with her at all. Anyone here use OM for high school? I plan to use it independently without enrollment. I'd love to hear from others who have used OM in high school. Thanks!
  11. We make these: http://domesticate-me.com/peppermint-bark-rice-krispie-treats/ They are soooo good!!! Chex Mix is a good salty option that we love, too.
  12. It sounds like the perfect day-after-Thanksgiving breakfast. :)
  13. I had mine removed in my early 20's. It was a pretty quick and easy recovery. It's the same for my ds23. My husband, however, had his removed a couple of years ago at the age of 37 & had a long, difficult recovery. All of us were having problems with them. Maybe it is easier for young people to get over it.
  14. I just got the free CK12 book for my Kindle. I am going to let my daughter read through it and see if it's a better fit. Thanks!
  15. I am happy to see Glenn alive, but I agree that it was predictable and far-fetched, even for a zombie apocalypse. Morgan is going to get people killed. I understand that "all life is precious," but some people are beyond redemption. That Wolf he has imprisoned is one of those people. Hopefully Carol will go in and take care of that little problem.
  16. I found the Miller Levine book on Amazon. Do I need to buy lab materials? If so, where do I purchase those? Also, what additional materials, such as workbooks, tests, etc. do I need? Thanks! I also looked at Guest Hollow. I like the fact that the textbook is free online. What extras did you purchase for this? Is there an answer key for the chapter questions? Also, what about tests? Thanks!
  17. I totally do NOT want either of them to die, either. It's just a gut feeling I have. I still want them to hook up as well, but my dd14 says that the time has passed for that....like SHE knows about these things.
  18. Those sound delicious. I'd love the recipes as well.
  19. My mind was in the gutter with yours. I thought something like that as well. Also, I think we will find out what happened to Glenn in this Sunday's episode. My gut feeling is that he's dead. He'll reappear in flashbacks, but that's it. :( I don't read the comics, and I know the show doesn't follow them exactly anyway. I believe that Daryl (who I know isn't even in the comics) will die this season. :( I've also got a feeling that Carol will die this season as well. :( So there go three of my favorite characters. I hope I'm wrong! I think an Abraham & Sasha pairing would be interesting. I'd like to see that one play out.
  20. I am Catholic and I thought it sounded like a Catholic name. It's beautiful. I love it. :)
  21. I've tried several different ways to help my daughter with Apologia Biology. I'm beginning to think that Apologia is just not going to "click" with her. What curriculum do you use and why did you choose it? Tell me about it...please.
  22. Thanks, everyone. You've given me some great ideas.
  23. We had so much fun at Christmas when my children were younger: Christmas unit studies, crafts, baking, riding around to look at lights and decorations, milk & cookies for Santa...the list could go on forever. Now that they're older, I need some new ideas. Any thoughts? Thanks!
