  1. Sending bug hugs @saraha ETA - obviously I meant big, but kept the bug because I hope it amused you. ❤️
  2. Aging and being female is so hard! I get the chin hairs and don't see them until they are super long because my eyes are so bad. I may have some upper lip hair, but can't see it. I should use my magnifying mirror to check. Or maybe I don't want to know...
  3. @stephanier.1765 lol, that's what I was referring to in my original post about having less hair in other parts of my lower body. 🙂 I'm glad you shared that. It's really just another body part, but it is weird saying that on a public forum.
  4. Yeah, I already have thin fine hair and am afraid of losing the little bit I have! I don't know if my hair still grows either.
  5. I'm wondering if those of you who have gone through menopause are experiencing less body hair than you used to have. I have neuropathy in my lower body and just discovered that the hair on my legs isn't growing. At least I don't think it is. My neurologist asked me about hair onmy legs at my last appointment but I couldn't tell her anything because I shave every day. She was quite shocked that I shave every day and I explained that I just feel cleaner shaving daily. I don't care if anyone else shaves their legs, but for me it's like brushing my teeth. And then I remembered that when I had my foot surgery a couple of years ago and the splint came off weeks later, I didn't have a hairy leg underneath as expected. Anyway, I've discovered some hair loss on some other parts of my lower body and decided to stop shaving my legs to see what happens. It's been about a week and I'm seeing very little stubble that's kind of spotty/splotchy. I don't have any idea how long it takes for the hair to grow when not shaving since I've shaved daily for years. I don't know if the hair loss is due to aging or the neuropathy. I guess I'll see in a few weeks what my legs look like, but I'm seeing a specialist in a couple of months for the neuropathy and thought this would be good info to have if the hair doesn't grow there.
  6. That is so cool! I wish I had discovered this board earlier. Love that so many of you have so much history here. ❤️
  7. How frustrating! I've never used Goodreads on my phone (I'm terrible with everything on my phone), so maybe it's all different. I use my DNF shelf a lot (unfortunately) and move my books there from my currently reading shelf but only using my laptop.
  8. I'm sorry about the pain. I know you've been through an awful lot.
  9. No, it's me too. My weight goes up and down frequently and it's SO stressful because I never know what will fit me next week, in two weeks, next month...I have a stuffed closet filled with all different sizes and I'm afraid just about everything is too small right now. 😞 The changing seasons are hard too because I never know what will fit. I should just buy all stretchy clothes and hope for the best.
  10. Do you mean you want to move it from currently reading to did not finish? If so, you should be able to do that in the drop down box just below the photo of the book on the left of the title page where the little pencil is.
  11. DH and I were just talking about this. Before social media, there were all the tabloids like National Enquirer and I think Star(?) hounding celebrities.
  12. I'm going to try the L'Oreal. Thanks! 🙂
  13. thank you! I'd prefer not to curl anyway. Will definitely play around before the wedding and see primer vs. different mascaras. ETA - thanks for the tip to wait a few minutes between coats. I didn't know that.
  14. Do you have a primer you could recommend? Not having to learn a new skill is appealing! 🙂
  15. I was looking forward to reading the book because of the topic. I would really like to learn more about Syria. Maybe that's why I was so disappointed with the actual story - too much focus on relationships and not enough about Syria. When I read the reviews, I saw that there was a twist and considered looking it up when I decided to abandon the book, but I was so annoyed by the book that I decided I didn't care. Now you got me intrigued and I'll have to look it up.
  16. Any recommendations on an eyelash curler? Or just not use one? I rarely wear make up, but one of my sons is getting married soon and I was thinking an eyelash curler might be nice. I have no idea what to get. I don't want to spend a lot on one since I don't expect to be using it regularly. Anyone have an inexpensive one they like? I prefer it comes from Amazon, otherwise Walmart or Target next since i'll order online. I found one at Walmart that looks good, but it's out of stock there and at Amazon. UPDATE - not getting the curler and will try primer and maybe some different mascaras to see what I like best. 🙂
  17. I've been on hold for this book for a long time at the library - I think I'm still in the 300s on the hold list. Everyone seems to really like it, but I'm so picky that I don't have high expectations.
  18. Oh, I bet I wanted to read it because of you then! I'll have to go back and see what you posted! ETA - I didn't find your original post but I saw that you gave it five stars in your yearly wrap-up!
  19. I'm really picky. 😛 Maybe you'll love it.
  20. I gave up on it. Hated the writing and wasn't crazy about the story/main character either. It's YA, but there are plenty of YA books with great writing that don't feel like they are written for a middle school audience like this one does.
  21. Well said @Harriet Vane and thank you for foster parenting. ❤️
  22. That's so cute! I'm hoping for that. My kids did that with their grandmothers (my oldest came up with something different from grandma and then younger siblings did the same), but then my MIL made them change it after her highly favored granddaughter was born because that's not what the favored granddaughter called her.
  23. Yay! So happy for all of you! 🙂 Thanks for the update.
  24. I was just talking to DH about this the other day. We can talk about things we can do to help keep the planet healthier and safer rather than frighten kids.
  25. I want to thank everyone for sharing what they are reading. I get so (too?) many ideas for new books to read from this thread! 🙂 I'm reading As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow by Zoulfa Katouh.
