Tropical Storm Arthur will barely affect us, but that doesn't matter to local news anchors. They love a storm, even when it's not going to hit us.

My favorite was the year we had Charley, Frances, and Jeanne. I can't remember which storm, but there was this moment when the reporter was in a boat, leaning into the wind, and then this dude just went walking all normal behind her in maybe 8 inches of water.

The Children's Librarian at my local library just asked me for suggestions for a homeschool book section they want to create. For a moment my mouth just hung open like a fish.... there was a traffic jam in my brain!

Our local library had a binder that could be checked out which was like homeschooling 101 and had specific info explaining the laws, complete with sample withdrawal and letters of intent. It was incredibly helpful to a newbie!

DD13 has declared me the best mom ever. I found her free horse riding, something she has been begging for years to do but I could not afford it. I found a way for her to do so for free!

I've noticed that treating mom like a dictionary is a definite homeschooler trait. I think it's because so many of us don't do the whole phonetic journaling approach that ps does.
