  1. This, for sure. I should have mentioned that. I freeze whatever quantity I think I'll need, usually 1-2 lb. servings, in Ziploc bags.
  2. You can use turkey leftovers in almost anything for which you would usually use cooked chicken. Around here: Pot Pie Noodle Soup Creamy Stew Acadian Stew Fajitas Cacciatore Pilaf
  3. Betty Crocker recipe here, too. We've tried a few of the variations, the favourite being adding apples but not raisins. I do the casserole version, not in the bird. If I have been organized enough throughout the year to be thrifty, I chop up bread heels and older buns into cubes and store them in a ziploc bag in the freezer until needed. If not, that is what inexpensive grocery store loaves are for!
  4. I liked it. I suspect her target audience was probably more in her age range. When I see young adults start to truly take care of themselves, it signals to me growth and maturity. Good stuff!
  5. Not cheap, but yes merino is so nice.
  6. Say some variation of "We've been sick lately, here's a fist bump" and proceed to give fist bump instead.
  7. The next big invention should be some sort of vacuum-assist lint trap for dryers. My very dusty laundry room would be so grateful!

      First world problems ;-)

  8. Childhood friend named Gaylene, we called her Gay. Probably wouldn't name my child that now.
  9. I do like this name, but bad 70s TV ruined it for me - I think of Three's Company and Greedy Gretchen.
  10. Switched at Birth is essentially a teen soap opera, but I guess it might fall closer to realistic fiction than Harry Potter or Hannah Montana. Friends (sort of)? The Office?
  11. I was thinking a walk through a cemetery.
  12. Abigail Agatha Brunhilda Donalda Erma Helga Olga Regina Winnifred
  13. Exercise arm strap for your phone? It's easy to see why the high school girls tuck their phones into their waistbands and bra straps so often. sigh
  14. Anecdotal, but in our family the members who get the most daily sun exposure in summer seem to miss D the most in winter, even though they are still outside much more than average. From what I remember, our latitude just does not get enough in winter, and they don't seem to store enough to be optimal through winter. Survive, sure.
  15. It wouldn't have been an identified issue because humanity didn't know about it specifically at that time. It seems to me more likely that all problems existed in the past, unknown and unnamed.
  16. We live in Canada. We try to remember to take Vitamin D daily in the winter, usually beginning and ending with the time change. That's all I know.
  17. In our location, margarine is 1/3 the price of butter. We serve food with butter (toast, steamed veggies, etc.) but use margarine for baking. When it is just dh and I - and I probably won't need to bake much at that point at all - we may switch for health reasons, though I suppose any calorie reduction will be in reduced baking consumption, not from the baked goods' ingredients. :D
  18. I'm often stuck waiting a couple of hours for my dd at an in-town event, and there's only so much shopping and spending a mom can do. I bought a 10-visit pool pass, and stuck a bag of stuff in my vehicle. I only like to do laps for an hour, so fingers crossed my motivation will last past the first visit. :-)
  19. That was one of my "since I need to sit beside you while you work anyway, I may as well be doing something with my hands" jobs, along with folding laundry. :-)
  20. If you have science in your homeschool classes on Tuesday, you could cut Science in the Beginning.
  21. For awhile my kids got really into building obstacle courses.
  22. Where is it leaking from? Ours had developed a leak which went away after I adjusted the front gasket. (And also after I had ordered another gasket, which is now sitting in a box. Murphy's Law.) Big fan of google/youtube fixes on appliances if possible.
  23. You are so thoughtful. Can you replace the cushions and then follow some of the clever suggestions previously posted to protect them?
