:confused: I said in the first post what I wanted to know. Was it a false alarm, a mistake or someone walking around with a rifle, Or something else entirely. I live here; I take my kids and my dog to this park. I'd like to know what happened.

No updates. I couldn't find anything in the news. One post said it was good they didn't spread rumors. How is it spreading rumors if the police DID respond to a call to the park? :confused:

DD and I went to the park and we were in the car, trying to decide what we wanted to do. It is a big park, probably a mile long and half mile wide. A man on a bike rode up to his car and got off and made a phone call. Then he came over to us and said a man with a rifle was at the other end of the park, that he had just called 911 and we should probably leave. Uh, yeah. So we pulled out and left. We stopped on the way and told another family what he had told us and saw him stop and tell several other people as he was driving out. We were almost to the exit when 3 police cars, w/lights on whipped past us. The first policeman had his rifle across his lap and steering wheel! Then a county sheriff pulled in and another car passed us on the street, heading to the other entrance. So they took the caller seriously. I called the non-emergency number to ask what happened, if it was a false alarm, taken care of, etc. The officer only said the park is safe, ma'am. I think they could at least say...it was a kid with an air soft gun, we couldn't find anyone, we arrested a distraught man. Something.

Not all bomb threats equal an evacuation. You can Google bomb threat protocols and see that some places leave the decision up to the principal. So, your (general your) school could have had bomb threats you (general you) didn't know about.

If you need meat, look for the cheapest cuts...like bone-in chicken thighs and drumsticks, whole chickens and who,e turkeys. Also chuck roasts, and sausages (not the healthiest but tons of flavor so a little goes a long way). If you do serve fruit, add a bit of protein like cheese or peanut butter. What a completely unprofessional thing to do! Is he an expert in natural disasters? Like the house is on a flood plain or something? He's not one of those people who tells you how to prevent break-ins and such?

My girlfriend ( friend who is female. i thought id clarify that. :D ) was always leaving one of her kids at different places. He's an outgoing, talkative kid and when she'd tell her kids to go get in the car, he wouldn't bc he was too busy socializing. Sometimes she'd do a head count and realize she didn't have him but sometimes she wouldn't and he'd get left behind.

A Kiss Cam is when the camera person at a sporting event focuses the camera on a couple and the crowd encourages them to kiss. Their images are up on the big screen of the event so the entire audience can see.

Did anyone READ the police press release? :confused: The teacher thought it was "possibly the infrastructure for a bomb." This could happen all over again. The school is fine with the way they handled it. It's not about Ahmed, because he's gone. It's about what the school did.

IMO, it is significant bc it is the first time he celebrated Mass in the US. In the Catholic faith: Celebrating Mass is more than preaching. The Mass has 2 parts...the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. In the Liturgy of the Word, for the main parts, there is usually a reading from the OT, a Psalm, a reading from the NT and then a reading from the Gospel. Then there is the Homily, which is the preaching. :D The Liturgy of the Eucharist, for the main part, is when the bread and wine is transformed to the Body and Blood of Jesus. HTH
