  1. my dh has to work and usually does each NYE so it's me and the kids most years. We just eat good food (tonight I'm making several appetizers for our dinner) watch movies and play games. Usually as soon as that ball drops I'm exhausted and we go to bed. One year I bought the silly hats and noisemakers but not this year. Daddy will be home right before midnight and he's going to bring home the sparkling grape juice as I couldn't find the right kind the kids like yesterday at the grocery store. That's about it!
  2. He should have walked his children home, and got his truck later. He's getting what he deserves IMO.
  3. we have Guitar hero World Tour, the new one, and it's just the music I think. There's no videos being played. There are people you can make and some of the girls are wearing bikini type tops...some of the songs are rock so of course they may have questionable lyrics. Nothing that's out there bad IMO.
  4. we've been bored since Christmas too. So I made all them go grocery shopping with me. :D We got some yummy stuff for NYE and then we came home, ate lunch and now I'm taking them up to the tennis courts. It's beautiful out here in FL. I'm taking Valley of the Dolls, which I'm almost done with. Later I'll read aloud some more of Prince Caspian. Then I'll turn them loose to play video games and/or watch TV for a while. Dinner is sandwiches tonight so I don't have to cook!
  5. I agree with the above and think it's very hard on young people who have these feelings for one another along with the raging hormones.
  6. my dd's 13 big winner was her ipod nano ds's 14 was his bass and amp two little ones loved their Lego sets and for the entire family our big hit is Guitar Hero for the Wii, World Tour. LOVE IT!!
  7. We watched it yesterday for the first time too with our friends who brought it. I was a little distracted by the kids, but it was good. I would like to see it again in a quieter setting.
  8. already dealing with it here too and yeah, i'm shocked at how fast it happened.
  9. Thank you, yes I'm trying to get reviews from those who have seen it because we're supposed to go this afternoon. I read the screen it one and that was a very good breakdown and I feel a bit better about it, thanks!
  10. my dd is 13 and ds is 14. is there anything in the movie that is upsetting or inappropriate? I did read the first book myself. I know they kiss and there's the battle at the end. Was it really yucky or scary? TIA!
  11. The only thing I bought was groceries. I hope that doesn't count. :tongue_smilie:
  12. 14. He's needed to for a while and he finally listened to me. Although now I have to nag him to keep it up because he's all stubbly.
  13. OK I had to read the posts. I consider dating going out with the opposite sex alone. So...I don't know when I'd let my children date. Right now I'd say not until they are adults...18. If they like someone and I let them be around that person knowing they like them, I don't consider that dating. I will let them do things with that other person if I like the said person. My dd is already dealing with this...my son who is a year older hasn't liked anyone yet (thank goodness!)
