  1. I am thinking of IEW for my highschoolers next year. Will SWI C work alone or do I really need TWSS? Thanks!
  2. Grammar? Daily Writing? Not often enough right now :o History? 3 times a week Science? 2 times a week Geography? Nothing scheduled. We just look things up on the map as they come up in our reading Bible/Religion daily
  3. Sounds wonderful! I agree, start in the bathrooms and then kitchen. To me, those would be top priority. Have fun!
  4. I agree with ditching the stuff you don't like. I would do math with the 7 yo daily and some copy work/ dictation. Have him continue to read lots. How about getting SOTW on CD and listen to those and he can do a summary or draw a picture-something easy and fun. Science can be library books of his choice and some videos.
  5. With my 6th and 4th graders they copy it one day and I dictate it back the next. We do this twice a week. My 2nd grader copies 1 line a day from his phonics reader.
  6. Because I want to be around my kids and watch them learn and grow. Time goes way to fast to send them off for 6+ hours a day. Because I can do just as good if not better than the PS. Because I want them to learn about God and to be able to praise and worship Him as we please, when we please. Because learning is so much more than just school books and happens 24/7, not just 8-3. Because I love not being on anyone's schedule.
  7. I am not sure. We started August 20th and plan to be done the last Friday in May.
  8. I bought it at Wal-Mart LOL. Here is some info from At&T. http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/go-phones/index.jsp
  9. We just bought a Go Phone with At&T, but they have a plan that is 0.25 a call and no $1/day charge. I paid $20 for the phone and it came with $10 of free minutes. It's great for me because I don't use my cell phones much; just for emergencies or a quick call to the kids while I am out.
  10. That's what we did for the first time! I used to have to buy a bit here and there. It was really fun being able to plan and shop at one time thanks to tax time :D
  11. Not sure, that's what I need to decide, too. We do copy/work and dictation, but my son is really lacking so I have to figure out what to do with him.
  12. I will be using BJU for grammar and math for everyone, so I listed it at the bottom of the post. SWR is spelling. I agree @ planning and shopping! I only wish teaching was as fun or easy.
  13. Yes, exactly. My soon to be 7th and 5th graders need help with their writing so I might start them in SWB's book, but at which level I am not sure.
  14. I would choose option # 2. Can you join a co-op? Can she take a class or two at the PS so she can still see her friends? Any other outsdie things like theater or something along that idea?
  15. I just have a few more things to order, but most of our stuff is on the way. This is what we are doing: 12th: BJU-Pre Calc Apologia Advanced Chemistry SOS Spanish II Writing at the CC Intro to Criminal Justice at CC 10th: Saxon Alg 2 BJU Chemistry BJU Writing & Grammar 10 IEW SWI C Notgrass Exploring Wold History-counts as Lit too SOS Spanish II Henle II 8th, 7th, 5th and 3rd: TOG year 1 redsign ( yes, I finally decided lol) and writing Elementary Greek I Latinia Christiana II SWR ( 8th will use Apples II) Atelier Art level 6 Music Ace and hopefully piano for atleast the 8th grader SWB's new writing book for atleast the 3rd grader, but I am thinking 7th and 5th too 8th will use The Thinking toolbox, 7th The Fallacy Detective and 5th Mind benders BJU at their own levels: Math Science English K5 math and K5 beginnings My 3rd grader will be using SWR and ETC for reading and possible some other resources once we have his eval done. I had fun planning and even more fun shopping! :D
  16. I am hoping to do this someday. For now they are crammed into a kitchen drawer LOL
  17. I was thinking of getting some of those vacation station books from BJU as we will be using BJU next year. I do have them read everyday and I was thinking of maybe studying the continents for fun.
  18. LOL. I do like our co-op and the kids love going! It just feels good to have a freebie day. Dh comes home tomororw after 2 weeks away ( he was home 2 days in between ).
  19. That I was excited and relieved co-op classes were cancelled today? After 2 crazy weeks, it's going to feel great to have a free afternoon! :D
  20. Not to worry. If I have to have a GB removed one day it's not the end of the world. I am hoping I wont have to of course, but I know there is a good chance I will have to. For now this is working, although I did have a minor attack 2 weeks ago even with eating good. That was frustrating, so we shall see.
