  1. I haven't read through the site in years and we were qf before I knew there was a name for what we were LOL. I just thought we were nuts :D Try this link and see if it helps any, although I haven't read it yet http://www.quiverfull.com/birthcontrol.php
  2. Here is a good site and I recommend the book listed on this site " A Full Quiver" for information on the concept. http://www.quiverfull.com/
  3. My planning and most of the shopping is done! All I have left is my BJU stuff, but I am ordering that in a week or two and then I will be finished.
  4. I ordered SWI C today too! LOL I am really hoping this is a good fit for my 15 yo.
  5. Drat, try this instead http://www.expelledthemovie.com/playground.php
  6. We must run in different circles becuse I don't see this. However, I personally believe, that each baby is a direct gift from God. He opens and closes the womb. So, formular or breast, if I got pregnant, then it's God will for me at that time. I know not everyone believes this way and I don't expect them to.
  7. I am not feeling well and my mind is fuzzy so I apologise if I read this wrong, but are you saying quiverfull families tend to formular feed and thus have babies closer together? Because, I for one, have breastfed all 10 of our babies and most "qf" people I know breastfeed too. We also co-sleep and feed on demand. I personally don't know too many people who choose formular unless it's a medical reason they can't breast feed. I also know many, many qf familes so this statement puzzles me. Again, I apologise if I misread this one.
  8. Thank you! I had a large order sitting in my cart and the 10% off worked! yay! :D
  9. I apologize if this has been discussed already, I just saw this this morning. http://www.expelled themovie. com/playgroundvi deo3.swf What do you think? I'd think it looks interesting and I would like to see it, to see what it's all about.
  10. I just bought my first food processor this weekend. I got the Hamilton Beach "big mouth" which has a 14 cup capacity and I love that I can put whole onions or apples without having to cut them up first. Before this I had one of those tiny food choppers LOL.
  11. I remember when I had my 4th and my oldest was 4-1/2 and life was very hectic. You are in a season that is very hard, but it passes so quickly! Like Kenda, my older children are a huge help to me. No, they aren't servants, but we work as a family. I have wondered at times if it was too much for my oldest or too hard on her, but just recently she asked me when we were going to have another baby. She is looking forward to another sibling, so it couldn't have been that bad *grin*
  12. The thing is you don't need to worry about 10-12 kids NOW. Enjoy your pregnancy and worry about the next baby then.
  13. I really think a lot of it depends on your area. In this market, unless you live in an area that gets alot of traffic/advertising, your house could sit for a while. When we sold in Maine we thought of FSBO, but we needed to move our house fast ( and as it was it took over a year) and we decided to go with a realtor. This is just my humble opinion :D
  14. I agree with Kendra, to listen to your DH and his leading. Continue to pray, continue to seek His will and listen. Being quiverfull doesn't always = 20 kids either. You could leave it up to God and have no more children. You could leave it up to God and have 10 more children. Truely being quiverfull is leaving the #, the timing, thehealth, the financial and all of it up to God. Trust Him to provide all your needs as He sees fit. We haven't had much money and things seem to be a struggle with us for money, but He has always met our needs and sometimes our wants, too. I don't think God ever promised life would be rosey, but He does promise to take care of our needs if we trust Him. Matt 6:31-34
  15. We switched to TT for math for my highschoolers two years ago so I had my current 9th grader using TT Alg 1 during 8th. At the end of the year( after finishing TT Alg 1) we decided to switch math again so I had my son then take the Saxon Alg 1 pretest and he bombed it. He only got 1-2 things right. I felt like we wasted an entire year using TT. I have him in Saxon Alg 1 this year and he is consistantly scoring in the 90s.
  16. I greatly dislike grading an correcting work, so it goes undone for too long. Then I find we have things we missed learning and we have to back track. I really need to get better at doing this daily.
  17. Thanks for the replies. I don't think this is exactly what I was looking for. Good to know before I bought!
  18. We don't do too many snacks as it can get expensive fast. What I do instead is make 3 large meals a day. If my kids ate cereal for breakfast, they would be starving in a few hours. A few eggs, some toast, juice or milk and we can make it till lunch with out a snack inbetween. We do have an afternoon snack everyday mostly out of habit, but that's pretty much it for snacks.
  19. I was looking at this to boost the kids math and for fun over the summer months. Pros/cons of the software? I can't find the info that tells how many players can use one game. Anyone know? Thanks!
  20. My 8 yo who has speech and reading issues: Math: 30 minutes Reading/Spelling ( SWR, ETC, his phonics reader) 45 minutes( this isn't all at one sitting though. I'd say 20 minutes SWR then we take a break and 25 minutes for ETC and his reader) Writing: Copies 1 sentence from his phonics book, so @ 5-10 minutes History/Science is done each twice a week for @ 30 minutes We usualy reread the same phonics page that we read in the AM again in the afternoon.
  21. I think I am going to get SWI and try it. If we get stuck I can order TWSS then.
