  1. You will be dressed perfectly for a Louisville wedding."
  2. Starting price in my location $300k-$500k, it depends on how winding the road is to the house. You wouldn't have to go too far to find it in the $250k+ but you would really be sacrificing on location and the land would not be very useable (hilly and covered in trees). I did see a gorgeous house fitting that description with a pool and small guest house for $10 million.
  3. I don't run until closer to lunch time, I don't function well if I run too early in the day. Ideally I would run around 10, but that doesn't mesh very well with homeschooling.
  4. Do you have a gym with child care in your area? I have a really nice Y and I take advantage of the free childcare that comes with the membership. One of my friends used to drop her kids in the childcare then go shower or read a book in the lobby. Having visited a couple Y's that aren't my usual one, I know they aren't all created equally but even some of the cheaper gyms have childcare. Even if you walk at a snails pace on a treadmill, you would still get a break. You could also invite a friend over for coffee/tea/Netflix after your kids are in bed. Sometimes I crave an adult conversation that doesn't require a phone.
  5. I hear you. Last week we FaceTimed with my husband at bedtime. I had an extra kid that day so I had been unable to exercise, I hadn't showered because we woke up late and had to rush to swim team, then we were on the go all day. My husband was sitting in his hotel room watching a tv show he chose at 7 something in the evening! If he wanted he could go swim, use the hotel gym, or since it wasn't dark, be outside by himself. I may have whined at him a bit. My husband travels quite a bit but we have been able to go with him some. It's not as glamorous as it sounds. Most of the hotels are about the same. He works longer days, if he has a dinner, he has to be "on" which is tiring after doing it all day long. He occasionally gets to do fun things but it is rarely with the people he would most enjoy doing them with. He never gets to site see, he spends his free time catching up on all the work he would have done if he was in the office. When he gets home he spends a fair amount of time playing catch up. Yes, he isn't around the kids and that sounds so lovely at times, but he misses out on things he would like to be a part of too. Hang in there!
  6. What about giving her a gift certificate for the future? She doesn't want anything right now but a14 year old will in the future.
  7. http://www.wkyt.com/content/news/Pokemon-Go-users-popping-up-in-unexpected-places-across-Lexington-386217441.html It's fun but people need to use common sense. Eta people are walking into a restaurant to catch Pokemon.
  8. If the vehicle features aren't what you want, how much would it cost to have the van you want painted? What about buying from another dealership that can get the color you want? (I've never bought a vehicle new so I've never actually chosen my car color.)
  9. We ate lunch downtown today. Several 20 somethings were out playing. Our server talked me into downloading the app, now my kids are hooked. It's pretty fun, a good way to learn about landmarks, and probably a great way for me to burn through all my data way too fast.
  10. See if there is a Groupon, the one in our area has Groupns occasionally.
  11. We did one tonight. It was so much fun, a great date night out with friends. There was a secret door that popped open after we entered a code. Not one of us noticed the hidden door even after 25 or so minutes in the room.
  12. I don't, I've never heard of them. I do have a whistle on my key chain I guess in case I get lost. It's been there so long I don't notice it anymore.
  13. At home, all the time, even if I'm enjoying the movie. In the theater only a couple times.
  14. Here is a commercial pattern site: http://oliverands.com/ . There is a Flickr group and Pinterest page where you can see cute variations of patterns.
  15. http://www.madeeveryday.com/ This blog is fabulous, look at the archives for cute dress patterns and boy clothes. She used to host a month long sewing series aimed at boys.
  16. We have Once Upon a Child and a similar store that pay you up front. I haven't sold my clothes there because you get next to nothing for them. I prefer the tax donation or passing them on. I have done a consignment sale, I had mixed feelings on whether it was worth it. I had quite a bit of name brand things to sell but people still expected a bargain and there was a couple evenings of prep work. I think I got $125 for a large Rubbermaid tote of clothes and a laundry basket of random baby gear. I did not find it worth it for gear, selling on Craigslist is better for that.
  17. I have a set of Henkles from Target that are still great after 15 years. I would recommend buying on or two knives to start if a set is too expensive. In fact, I have bought seconds of my two fborite knives so my husband and I can both cut things at the same time. Taking good care of knives will go a long way toward longevity even if you have cheap knives. Store them in a block or on a magnetic strip where the blades won't get beat up. Hand wash, and don't let them soak.
  18. Are you talking about pictures you uploaded to Facebook or pictures other people posted of you? If they are your pictures, do you have them saved elsewhere? Or are you trying to keep the comments too?
  19. I know there is an option to download high resolution pictures, but that assumes they were uploaded with high resolution. My brother has specifically requested I upload high resolution pictures at different times when he has wanted to print one.
  20. What about having an album printed of them? I believe most places like Walgreens have a service like this although I have not tried it personally.
  21. I was there for a big cross country ski race many, many years ago. I have no recommendations though.
  22. Do you own or rent your fryers? How much did the necessary equipment cost and where do you store it? Our church is across the street from a college football stadium that seats 70,000. Seems like the youth group could make a killing on game days.
