  1. That is so annoying and frustrating! I'm sorry. Seems like they would have figured that out by now and gotten some sort of emergency legislation through to fix it.
  2. Tom & Jerry or Looney Toons? My kids love those shows. My husband loves the 3 Stooges, I'm not a fan but thought I would throw it out there.
  3. Well, when I'm an emotional mess I don't want to be around others. Whatever is going on, I'm sorry! I hope it resolves quickly. Hang in there and if we can help from afar, please let us know.
  4. That's actually what we ended up doing today. I was thinking about a nice set that would endure through three kids. Then realized we could make them and I could have all the facts I wanted and index cards are cheap. The apps have been a problem. We have been using xtra math. My child figured out how to get greens without actually answering many questions. In splash math the same child designed an aquarium instead of answering questions.
  5. I think that's exactly what I need, and I don't have to buy anything!
  6. Where can I find plain flashcards that have all the facts (0-10 or 0-12)? Any brands you can recommend? Flashcards are easy to find but finding them without pictures and with all the facts seems more difficult. Bonus points if the aren't going to cost me an arm and a leg. I'd like them for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  7. I don't, but I think maybe I should. My husband travels quite frequently, I think I may sleep better if I have the same routine every night.
  8. My husband upgraded our tv awhile back to a smart tv. I wasn't a fan at first but we do a have a few school things we did online before that didn't work real well crowding around my 10 year old laptop. I realized a couple weeks ago that I could use the tv as a big computer! However, it is pretty difficult to navigate the internet with the remote that came with the tv. I think a Bluetooth mouse would be helpful or maybe a keyboard, but maybe I just need an app to turn my phone into a remote? What do I want? We mostly use the smart tv for a couple specific websites I have bookmarked and a YouTube playlist I set up for school. If it was easier to navigate I think we could use it for more. It's a brand new LG tv, not top of the line, from Walmart or some other box store. I have no idea which model we have. What do I want/ need to be able to easily click links or type in websites?
  9. I want to know how well a $4300 pen writes! Who owns a pen that expensive? Do you lend it to someone who needs a pen?
  10. Update: we did gather to celebrate my parent's (dad and stepmom) 30th anniversary. Instead of the party with 150 invited guests as my sister suggested and the rest of us were reluctantly going along with, we rented a small hunting lodge for an evening where we grilled, had a root beer keg (family tradition), and cupcakes. It was the first time we 6 kids and our parents had all been together in 5 years. We spent the rest of the week camping, hiking, and canoeing at the state park we camped at several times each summer growing up. The 14 grandkids who live in 5 different states really bonded during that time. It turned out to be a lovely time that fit our parents and our families. I'm glad we didn't do a traditional reception, but I am very happy we celebrated 30 years as a family.
  11. Is MIL from another country and SIL is buying things that can't be purchased there by chance?
  12. Wow. I would feel very violated. Is it possible SIL was buying things for MIL?
  13. We have cheap booster seats. In the past year we have flown with them 3 times, with no damage to any of them. Taking the back off would be smart if you don't have to have it though. I figured if the seats got ruined, a replacement was still cheaper than a car seat rental. Good luck with the appointment!
  14. My one experience using the car rental car seat was not great, we have always taken our own since then. However it was a car seat for a toddler not a booster seat.
  15. She does not have to have one on the flight. You can take yours and check it for free. Or you can rent one from the car rental agency.
  16. http://m.destinationxl.com/mens-big-and-tall-store/mobile/search/searchResults.jsp?c=cat260024&pageType=Departments
  17. Try DXL or any Big and Tall shop. You could also go to an optical shop.
  18. I've been retired since age 29! Just kidding, but for some reason the term Stay at home Mom grates on me so I joke I'm retired when people ask me where I work.
  19. Same here. I did love my Spanish teacher, she was my aunt. 😊 She wasn't a particularly great teacher, but she did love her students. I also met my husband in her class.
  20. I just googled and was picturing something completely different. I'm betting what you have picked would be fine for a backsplash. This is what I was picturing:https://m.lowes.com/pd/M-Rock-Appalachian-Ledge-100-sq-ft-Brown-Stone-Veneer/3394932 What I was picturing would not be good for a backslash all!
  21. People use limestone in fencing and fireplace surrounds. I've occasionally seen cut limestone as an accent but never as a backsplash. I think it could be done but I agree cleaning if could be a problem. Limestone is kind of fragile for lack of a better word, I think anytime you bumped it, a bit would break off and you would have gritty counters. I might be a bit jaded by the fact that workers have been jackhammering across the street from my house for a week to get through the 10' of limestone so a basement can be built. It's quite dusty!
