  1. My girls and I spent the morning at an awesome art class at a local museum, stopped for lunch, and then drove through downtown on our way home. The whole time I kept thinking, "I love my city!"
  2. Lego minifigures or small Lego sets, Mini Rainbow Loom and bags of rubber bands, jewelry, gloves, small notebooks
  3. Sorry to hear it didn't work for you and sorry to hear you are in pain. I'm a Tempurpedic fail. The store's policy required us to wait 30 days before returning the mattress or I would have returned it the week we got it. I tried to sleep on it every night but always ended up on the couch.
  4. I haven't seen these, but I thought I'd take a look. The website is terrible. I couldn't find a way to see inside any of the books. Have you seen them?
  5. I hope that people treat Mr. Duncan's family with compassion and common sense when they are released from their quarantine. I am especially concerned for the child. He's in middle school, isn't he?
  6. I completely understand! When my kids were little all I wanted for Mother's Day was for my husband to get them out of house for a few hours so I could clean.
  7. Here are some recipes that might work for you: http://www.pinterest.com/jolanthe/freezer-cooking/ Hope your surgery and recovery goes well!
  8. I'm so sorry. Hugs all the way around.
  9. I'm in the Dallas area and I'm part of the "not nervous" crowd. I am saddened by the illness of these two young nurses. I am concerned for the health of the others that cared for Mr. Duncan. I am hoping that we will soon hear that the Mr. Duncan's family is healthy and out of quarantine. But I am not nervous that this will spread and infect many others.
  10. Congratulations and best wishes to your growing family!
  11. So sorry for your suffering. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
  12. No and I've only eaten seeds that I roast myself.
  13. Right now I am feeling deeply grateful for health care professionals who work weekends, holidays, and crazy shifts, and expose themselves to harm so they can help keep the rest of us well. I know those of you who work in health care will say, "I'm just doing my job. It's what I chose to do," etc. I get that. But still, I am grateful.
  14. Thank you for your prayers. You're not missing anything. It takes longer for them to post the print version of the talks. I see that the General Women's Meeting has the print versions available. The rest of conference should be available soon.
  15. Add President Uchtdorf's talk to my list of talks to study! Did his list of questions remind anyone else of Alma 5? I think from now on Alma will have a German accent in my mind.
  16. Yay!!! I know what I'm reading tonight.
  17. I think both Elder Callister's and Elder Perry's talk will benefit me as a homeschool mom. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I am a mom first and a homeschooler second. How exciting that your 8 year old is feeling the Spirit during conference! I must admit that I'm a little candy sick too. So much for treating my body like a temple. My ten year old jumped on the exercise bike in the middle of the morning session to burn off some of the calories she consumed. I need to follow her example!
  18. No joke! I always look forward to both Elder Oaks' and Elder Holland's talks. I can't wait to study both of those talks as soon as they as on lds.org.
  19. Hmm, you're right. It looks like the story changed after I posted the link.
  20. Good news! He does not have ebloa: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/10/04/sick-passenger-removed-from-united-flight-by-medical-personnel-in-hazmat-suits/ ETA: The story that I linked has changed. This source is no longer reporting that he does not have ebola.
  21. We are thrilled with our new PE class! My kids have a great time while they get a lot of exercise. I volunteer to help at one of the stations, and I have been impressed with how polite the kids are to me and how encouraging they are to each other. I am so glad that we were able to get in this class!
  22. I agree that reading lots of good books and participating in conversations with adults will greatly increase a child's vocabulary. My kids also love to play Marie's Words. It doesn't take much time to play a couple of games, and I've been impressed with their retention.
