  1. No advise I just wanted to say, what a cool idea!!!!!
  2. Mom and Mommy. Even my 18 yr old son still calls me mommy sometimes, it is usually when he wants something though.:glare: :D
  3. Very Cool!!! So happy for you!!! How awesome to know that you can save lives!!
  4. I started using the workbox system. Not only does it work with the kids, but it also keeps everything in its place and organized. I got the 3 tier plastic drawers form walmart and I keep everything for each subject in the draw (books, workbooks, manipulatives) I put their assignment for the day on top. It has helped tremendously to keep the clutter down.
  5. I would probably do a Visa gift card. That way she can use it anywhere. My teens love to get these.:)
  6. We used Rod & Staff preschool and The Critical Thinking Company's Beginning 2 Mathematicl reasoning. We also used thier Can you find me books. My dd loves these!
  7. So sorry!:grouphug: Praying for her family!
  8. Thank you to all that took the time to reply. I have enjoyed reading what Kindergarten looks like at your home. I even bought Maryann F Kohls preschool art after seeing it mentioned here twice. Thanks again!!
  9. No, she did not know. It was just a youth cookout, watch movies, play video games hangout night.
  10. Thank you! This is exactly what I mean. I have no issues with the homeless ministry. We have workde the soup kitchen, delivered coats to shelters with the girl scouts, etc.... I just do not think that young teens should be hanging out at youth functions with homeless adults!
  11. They are all adults that they go downtown and pick up. That is what I am saying, I do not let her go to the homeless ministry functions because they are hang out. I did let her go tonight because it is a YOUTH function not a homeless ministry function. Yet they were there.
  12. OK I guess that I worded this wrong. I have absoultely nothing against the homeless ministry, I think it is great. I DO NOT think that these 13 and 14 yr old girls should be hanging around inside and outside of the house at night with them. It is like a hang out. The adults can't be everywheere.
  13. Thanks! I know alot of people do not really do K, but I would love to see more schedules.
  14. Would you let your 13, 14 or 15 yr old dd's go to the functions? There are The youth pastors, some parents and some college kids that usually attend. I do not let my just turned 14 last month yr old dd go. Then tonight they had a YOUTH function so I let my dd go and then I find out that there are homeless people there.:banghead: I am very angry and I am wondering what you all think about it. BTW, I seem to be about the only one that is appalled about this.
  15. I am getting ready to make a schedule. I would love to see how you break up your day. We are doing a full K day. Math, reading, science, bible, art, handwriting, and we are going to use AAS. We are going to take it easy. I I am not going to do everything everyday. We will be doing math and reading everyday. I am just not sure how to schedule. I HAVE to have a schedule though. =)
  16. I LOVE this idea! Thanks for sharing! I will be buying a journal today!
  17. I just recently purchased these and I am wondering how did you use these in your homeschool? Did you use these as your main reading program or L/A? What ages did you use which books? Did you coordinate anything else with these? Thanks for your help! =)
  18. My son has been contacted by their athletic director. He is interested in offering my son a scholarship to run. If you are familiar, I would love to hear your input. Thanks, Kristen
