  1. He rarely gets upset about anything When I goof up, he doesn't give me a hard time-and that has taught me to extend more mercy to others. He never expects more from me than I can give. He believes in me. He doesn't get upset about the messy house or uncooked meals. For my ringtone for calls from him, he put on Baby I'm amazed by you. You know, I agree with a pp, we need to share our list with our dh. Debbi
  2. Didn't realize there were so many of us. Now I don't feel so bad.
  3. So sorry you are going through this and I will pray. Just wanted to let you know my dh found both his last two jobs through http://www.indeed.com Hope it helps, Debbi
  4. My father has had a bladder infection for about 3 weeks. Doctor tells him they hang on sometimes in a man because the prostate acts as a sponge. Anyone have any experience with this?
  5. Dh put my ringtone on for when he calls me. It's "Baby I'm Amazed by You"
  6. My teenager loves the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. I can not tell you how many times he has read it-he never gets tired of it.
  7. I would be interested in buddy-ing up for weight loss. I have lost 35 pounds using Metabolic Research Center, but it is so expensive I haven't been in the last few weeks. I plan to head over to Quiver's post as the pp mentioned. Send me pm if you want to work together. Debbi
  8. After a few years off from college, I am finally able to take a class-History ll, which I am loving. Part of our assignments are to write a 200 word response to 2 questions from the professor each week. Is there a function in Word that will count the words for me? I think I have the 2003 version. Thanks, Debbi
  9. I need help choosing which course to use from the list of eight choices. Is the $74 one "just as good" as the more expensive ones? Any one of them hard to use? Please tell me your experiences. Our mechanic recommended Virtual Drive of Texas. It is $159. But, this forum has a much broader knowledge than one mechanic. Thanks in advance for your help. Debbi
  10. I don't know how soon your interview is, but the Abreva does indeed work. It is costley. but it takes such a small amount, I still have the first tube I bought several years ago. Debbi
  11. I have had allergy problems for many years and used to stay sick with colds/sinus problems all the time. Now I am almost never sick and this is what I do. I take a benadryl every night without fail and a vitamin c. I know it sounds simple, but the colds/sinus problems really did seem to be caused by the allergies, so keeping them under control keeps me well. If I do start having some breakthrough allergy symptoms, I just take 2 benadryl instead of one. This works great for me. Hope it helps you, too. Debbi
  12. Recently I made this: Chicken breast strips in butter, fresh mushrooms and fresh basil. Just saute until the chicken is done. You could add onion or garlic as well. This would work with any veggie as a side dish. I am baking Cream cheese surprise right now. Cut crusts off thin sandwich bread. Roll out flat with rolling pin. Spread with cream cheese. Roll up tightly and freeze. After freezing, roll in melted butter and cinnamon-sugar. Bake at 350 until crunchy.
  13. You can also dry extra herbs. I used some dried basil today left from last year and it was great. Debbi
  14. The sign on the bathroom door at work reads: "Please turn out the light. Thanks,Manger" Of course the man who wrote the sign thinks he should put an apostrophe after every "s", no matter where it is in a word. No telling how many kittens he has killed.
  15. How about Taco Salad? Brown ground beef, add 1/2 pkg taco seasoning but not the water. In bowl layer lettuce, tomatoes, whole kernal corn(or mexicorn), some type of bean(black or garbanzo), onion, ground beef, velveeta that has been melted with rotel. Top with fritos. Hope this helps, we love it. Debbi
  16. I have definately mellowed and it is much better. How so? I just don't argue with him as much. If I think he is wrong, he will figure it out on his own. Mind you, I am not this easy going all the time, but more so than I used to be. Also, I like to think that after 22 years, I don't annoy him just to have something to do. Generally, we communicate well, and don't let things build up, just enjoy being together. Debbi
  17. We have homeschooled for six years. Three years ago we moved to another state and it became necassary for me to go to work. Ds was 12 at the time. I think his academics have suffered. This year we are able to put him into a Chrisitian school and we are all looking forward to it. You just have to do what works for your family. I thought we would hoeschool all the way through, but things change.
  18. It took 2 years and we took a loss. We actually sold it for what we gave for it (or less), but in the seven years we lived there we had spent a lot of money on it. We rented it for a few months before we sold it and that was not a good deal either. We basically just sold it to get rid of it. Debbi
  19. Please dont let age stop you. One of the first things I noticed about college when I went at the age of 39-40 was that I was rarely if never the oldest student in the class. There are plenty of us non-traditional students, as we are known. You will also find that colleges are having classes at times to meet the needs of non traditionals-night classes, online classes. I took a Saturday class once. It was held on five Saturdays and lasted all day, except the last one. Of course the famous Ann Landers answer to someone who said she would be 64 years old when she finished. "How old will you be in 4 years if you don't go?" I would love to go back and finish and hope to one day. Debbi
  20. Hope he gets another job soon, will be praying with you. Dh found his last two jobs on indeed.com Debbi
  21. This group of people is so knowledgeable(sp?), I just have to ask: Our church has recently moved into a new buiding. The educational division is upstairs and has what I think is vinyl tile laminate, not a wood grain though. Does anyone have experience with cleaning these types of floors and making them look nice without constant upkeep? What cleaner to use, what to apply it with. Preferably no rinsing. I appreciate any help. Thanks, Debbi
  22. You can count on my support for whatever decision is made. Debbi
  23. What I am looking for is wall decorations/themes. I hesitate to go too heavily into a theme for fear I will tire of it quickly (think "country geese" from a few years back), but yet I want things to match. Right now the walls are bare. I plan to shop Hobby Lobby in a couple of days. A friend at work declares it is decorator heaven. Thanks for your advice, Debbi
