  3. *How many books do you have on your wishlist? I have 79. *Which book do you know you will never get through PBS? How many people are waiting for it?/What's your place in line? I doubt I will ever get The Blythes are Quoted by L.M. Montgomery. It was only in print for a short while. I am number 1 out of 59 wishers, though, so I will keep it on my wishlist just in case! *Which book do you wish was available tomorrow? The Beekeeper's Apprentice by Laurie R. King *Which book do you know you're going to purchase this year because it won't be available in time? Nothing too particular. I have several mystery books that I know will be available at the library before they come up on my wishlist. *Which books are for your kids (or dh)? If I Only Had a Heart by Burt Bacharach is for dh, I have some books in the Thieves and Kings series for ds, some Animal Ark books for dd10, and some All Things Girl books for dd13. *What one book do you offer that is a great book and you're surprised it hasn't been snapped up yet? About Teaching Mathematics by Marilyn Burns *If you remember, what is your favorite book that you've gotten through PBS? I've gotten tons that were great. I was really pleased to get an autographed copy of Presidential Cookies and I love it when I can find books on Orthodoxy, they're usually pretty rare.

  5. Asking St. Anthony's help. :grouphug:
  6. Mostly just read and napped and played on the computer today. I did have ds wash my car, and the other kids clean up and vacuum the living room :) I made up a trial batch of beeswax lip balm and it turned out pretty good. I will probably tweak it just a bit for my 4-H project on Friday. Tomorrow will be busy - we are doing food prep for our festival after church. Melissa, I hope you find your cat soon!
  7. Jean, your posts are making me hungry! KrissiK, I had no idea you were so close to me. We are practically neighbors. Today was not that productive. I swear I spend more time driving than I do at home (and I HATE driving). Going to go do some more laundry and pick up my bedroom. Laundry √ Pay bills √ Take ds to dentist for checkup √ Drop ds off at library to do research √ School work w/other kids √ Do some tidying in bedroom Dinner

  9. Weird, we were just at Ikea today, too :D We stopped in to get hot dogs/meatballs/cinnamon rolls at the bistro. We've been to their midsummer Swedish smorgasbord before, so I guess you can say we've eaten Swedish food. I like to make homemade Swedish meatballs - yummy! We do have some Ikea stuff in the house...let me think. I know our school room rug, and ds's bed and mattress, and some various storage boxes and a cutting board. I've bought baby items there too, for gifts. I have one glass, heart-shaped container of shells. DD likes to get them out and look at them. I love shells but I don't really have a place to keep more.
  10. I actually love my family size and make-up, but I would not have minded having one or two more. I would have had to start earlier, and avoided the c-sections though.
  11. I just wanted to pop in and say hi, and I haven't abandoned this thread, I have my aunt visiting me this week, so I've been spending time with her and not with you all - but I will be back participating soon :)
  12. The Fresh-Baked mystery series by Livia J. Washburn (features "older" characters). Peach of a Murder is the first in the series. The Cottage Tales of Beatrix Potter by Susan Wittig Albert (fictionalized series about Beatrix Potter, her animals, and her neighbors) The Tale of Hilltop Farm is the first in the series.
  13. Congratulations! I think I would have had a hard time waiting, too!

Long day today with a lot of driving.
  17. I'd check her over carefully. We had an easel fall on our cat's tail, and he ended up with a degloving injury (where the skin is stripped off the tail and the bone is exposed- yuck). He had to have surgery to fix it. Hope your cat's injury isn't severe.

  20. Thanks for the info! I just forwarded it to my friend who is having a hard time finding pants for her skinny ds. I'll have my ds check them out too.
  21. That is thrilling news! Good for you! :hurray:
  22. Some Penzey's spices? If they cook, that might be a nice gift. Wine sounds good too. Fetzer Gewurztraminer is a nice wine.
  23. Camp food? What is this camp food you speak of? I no understand it. :D Floors - hmmm...I like different things for different rooms. We have carpet in the bedrooms and I prefer it (although I would love to replace the old carpet in my bedroom). I like laminate for living areas. I like wood sometimes, but it wouldn't work in my house. My sister just moved into a new place, and it has bamboo floors - they are very attractive. I like them a lot. Bags - most places here use plastic. Trader Joe's is about the only one that uses paper. I re-use both for all kinds of things.
  24. Yes, I do. Especially after I've just killed a thread. :tongue_smilie: But, yeah, a lot of times I want to vent or whine about something...I will type it out and then delete it. I was just thinking a few minutes ago of something I wanted to share (not a vent) but I don't even know what kind of response I'm looking for, so I decided not to post it.
