Except not all of those are true here. Doctors have the same holidays as I do. They are not called in the middle of the night, unless they are on call, in which case they are compensated monetarily above their standard wage. If they work at the weekend they are again compensated monetarily above their standard wage. Here they rarely do shifts over 8 hours, if they do it will be 12 hour shifts. With marking I can do that too. How do they sacrifice family time? If you mean working weekends/evenings not all doctors do that, and as a matter of fact I do that too. And if they do, they are again compensated monetarily above their wage.
I'll give you certain occupational hazards and I will give you that they have more life and death responsibility, but the rest they are compensated for.
