  1. Pft...I just spent a few days being alone in a house with a WAHP while his wife was at work and their daughter was at camp. He bought me lunch one day. And although I'm not the Au Pair I am Swedish. I think I leave you in the dirt here :D
  2. Another vote for Bare Minerals. It is the only make up I can wear without looking like Ernie from Sesame Street  as it blends well with my skin tone. A friend of mine who is a skin care consultant uses Bare Minerals herself. I don't know your daughters skin but I also suggest a good daily moisturizer, if she is fair make sure it has a high SPF. Same friend recommends Elizabeth Arden which can be pricey (I got mine in the tax free at the airport so check if you know anyone who is traveling soon) but it is worth it. :)
  3. This has been my experience as well, both as a student and as a teacher.
  4. I'd report her. Even if a classmate has reported her, the administration needs to hear it from more students. I've not had that exact situation but some very similar ones both as a student and now as a teacher and it is always better if more report it.
  5. Yeah I couldn't use that abbreviation. I'm no prude but it seemed out of place :)
  6. Even without the fly lady thread I was starting to work on a list like this for my bullet journal :)
  7. If either team is up by more then 4 goals at half time and you seen me on the boards. Send me to bed 'kay?
  8. Not Lanny but I've heard good things about this organization http://plan-international.org
  9. I have fibro and I will be upgrading to a slightly firmer top mattress. I've also bought one of those hard pillows and am now doing better.
  10. I should add that the mattress I have is a box spring with a top mattress :)
  11. I don't have the IKEA bed but I do have the mattress and I love it
  12. Some do. Some don't. We had a wave of people in the 70s/80s from Iran and Chile for example. Some of these have returned, especially to Chile. However many have stayed and now form the backbone of the Spanish teachers here :). But there are programs to help people return, yes. ETA here is a link with information on repatriation http://www.migrationsverket.se/English/Private-individuals/Protection-and-asylum-in-Sweden/Repatriation.html
  13. We've discussed what a refugee is. An asylum seeker is an individual seeking protection. They are called asylum seekers while their claims are being processed. I would post more links but I'm on my iPad and it keeps eating my posts. But here is a link to how it is one in Sweden (link is in English :)) http://www.migrationsverket.se/English/Private-individuals/Protection-and-asylum-in-Sweden/Asylum-regulations.html
  14. I think you misunderstood my point. My point was, why do we call them illegal. They are coming to the US (and other countries) because they want help. By calling them illegal and making it difficult for them to show up at our door to say help we are creating an us and them situation, which in turn is leading to incidents like the one Faith described.
  15. But are they here illegally? They aren't hiding are they? They are showing up at our* door and saying help. *our, I am American but don't actually live in the US at the moment, but they are also showing up at my country's door and saying help, we call them asylum seekers and don't deem them illegal. I think the word choice is important here. Why are they called illegal?
  16. Well at least I can go to bed now. Ouch.
  17. My colleague has the retina one and loves it.
  18. I think this is what we call an ass whooping
  19. In my case it was a split eyebrow :) Didn't slow me down either. But I did destroy my coaches hoodie :)
