The Iditaread begins February 9th!
Deeke replied to buddhabelly's topic in General Education Discussion Board
So for the 25/30$ do the kids get anything, or is that just to participate? Seems like a lot of money to just join in. But maybe I am missing something. Has anyone participated in this before? Thanks -
Ours sounded clear, water was getting out, I could hear it drain. It would drain somewhat, spin a little and then stop with the error code UGH! But when Tim took the hose right off, ran some water in it, water came out, then he sorta shook it and all this gunk came out, so he straightened it and ran water, shook it again and more gunk!! So maybe something stuck farther up the hose, in the bent part. LOL about the repair guy, poor you!

I don't have that machine, I have the Affinity Front Loader by Fridgidare. BUT, we just went through this, no spinning and an E20 error code would come up. So looked it up online and found it was a drainage issue. So DH took the drain tube off the back and WOW! :ack2: Who knew so much black crap, don't even want to think WHAT it was lol, could build up in it! We rinsed, and rinsed, and rinsed the drain hose until it was clear and now no problems, works well again. Maybe it is the same thing with yours? I do use HE soap, but always used cold water, apparently this is an issue also, always use warm water to wash, helps flush the drainage hoses out better.

White Chicken Chili It is a HUGE family favourite! I change the recipe a bit, for a larger family. Kids here have been known to fight over the leftovers lol. 6 skinless, boneless chicken breasts 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup) 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped 4 cups chicken broth 2 teaspoon ground cumin 2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon red pepper sauce 2 cans (15 to 16 oz each) great northern beans, drained, rinsed 1 can (11 oz) corn, drained 6 tablespoons lime juice 4 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro 1. In slow cooker, mix onion, garlic, broth, cumin, oregano, salt and pepper sauce. Add chicken pieces whole, don't cut the breasts up. 2. Cover; cook on Low heat setting at least 6 hours, all day is better. 3. Remove chicken from slow cooker. Use 2 forks to shred chicken into pieces. Return chicken to slow cooker and stir in beans, corn, lime juice and cilantro. Cover; cook on Low heat setting 15 to 20 minutes or until beans and corn are hot. Enjoy!

Deeke replied to Kari C in SC's topic in General Education Discussion Board
We always do!! Creating holiday memories with the kiddos is will always be way more important than school work any day. We also take 6 weeks off at Christmas, all of December and into January to celebrate the New Year! -

I also thought HSM 2 was so-so, but HSM 3 was great, we all enjoyed it a lot. We're going to see it again next week! -
There is only a POLICY(not law) in place for you to send in a letter of intent to home school, and by doing that you are providing satisfactory education. Now you can also choose NOT to send the letter of intent BUT they can look at it as you are NOT providing satisfactory education if they were to somehow find out or have a complaint or whatever. The letter of intent is very basic, just your kids names and birthdate, no other paperwork is expected. They send you a whole package but you DO NOT have to fill it out or send it in. I register and have never had a problem in the 8 years I have home schooled. I know many who do not register and have never had a problem. Here's a link to OFTP and their postition of Policy # 131. We use Singapore also and like it a lot. We usually are finished by April, so I may order the workbooks for something to do after Singapore and carry it through the summer. They are a good price also if you order the complete set from 1-6. Years ago I ordered all my Singapore right from Singapore, before the singapore math . com people put a stop to that, can't have us getting it cheaper than what they charged. :001_rolleyes:

I saw that also, very interesting! -
It would be fun to know whose ignore list one is on, maybe even fair. Wonder how many put someone on ignore then still get tempted and look at their posts lol.
-
Thanks and LOL :001_smile:
-
Thanks, just curious. Nope, no intention to add anyone, just intrested in how one can participate in a thread without actually seeing all the posts. But know I know, if tempted they can still have a peek.
-
So when you decide to add someone to your ignore list are their posts completely gone, just don't show up in the thread? How can you then join in any thread knowing you are missing some of the posts? Also, if the person you are ignoring starts a thread, does only the replies to the thread show? Just curious and thanks.
