I would keep going.... but if you need to drop what you are using... drop it.... I would avoid any grammar for now.... focus on vocabulary and building it into your every day..... Make up sentences using one or 2 vocabulary at a time.... either oral or written.... both..... I would persaviere.... I wish I would have begun vocabulary early on and then moved into curriculum later...... familiarizing words, colors, sayings.... quotes.... is a great building block for later..... Lisa~

Have you looked into peace makers material?? Love them! The young Peace makers I think it can also be found at CBD?? I used this w/ Shawn and Christian years ago.... I still have it and dug it out this summer to use w/ Ms. RyLee... *Ü*

What doesn't feel enough?? It seems you did a lot of things... read.... traced Columbus's route.... colored for an activity..... I went to a workshop this weekend and have been completely re enspired..... How old is your dc?? Narration or retelling back what was read is a good way to tell what they learned.... evaluations just show what they don't know.... but at this age... you want to praise what they did learn..... if you continue w/ TOG or not.... chances are you will come back to this point in history.... As your child is coloring.... you can ask questions and have them tell you about what they learned.... this age is the parrot stage.... they also just tend to soak up infirmation..... what is it you are specifically looking for as for resluts...What were your goals for the week? Did you cover them? If so... you completed your week... be confident in that and move forward.... :) HTH~

I would just cut back and turn it into dictation..... I just came back from Catherine Levisons workshop Saturday and according to her and Charlotte Mason, their students (children) continued dictation till then end. Catherine's suggestion was to show the child what was going to be dictated.... they needed to read it every day and look at it.... then come Friday, they actually did the lesson. High School students dictate up to 3 pages of>>> what have you.... my kids would revolt.... but we have done little dictation.... Catherine also pulled the weeks spelling words from what ever was dicated.... She would discuss it w/ said child and they would decide together what the child could not spell... she would choose between 3 and 5 words.... Just a thought... HTH~:)

I love field trips....*Ü* We are not in a co-op or a support group... but I do own 2 yahoogroups for local on line encouragement and resources.... when I plan I normally open it up to those lists.... and when others on the list get one going... we try to go... if the crowd isn't to young....:D

Hmmm the box trick didn't work? "The mouse goes ________ the box(or boxes)" we learned last year in AG that only 9 prepositions do not fit in this catagory.... but, until, than, as, like, during, of, except, since. If she can memorize these and all prepositions.... it will help.... " The package (under the tree) is mine. Prepositions always begin the prepositional phrase..... I hope that helps... but memorizing the list and using the mouse box trick is pretty handy.....

OOO!! :thumbup: I say crockpot... find a few faves and stick with them.... easy homemade soups and grilled cheese are fast and easy.... soft tacos.... you could make the taco meat up the night before... re heat and whala....umm... sandwiches for dinner never hurt anyone.... clean up is a snap on that too! :D OOO! Another idea... make the meal part way the night before so you just have to pop it in the oven the next day... meat loaf... mashed potoes... Glad you asked... it sparked another idear....

Well I think it is because Christians are not perfect people.... we are sinners saved by grace and thats about it. Everyone... Christian, Muslim... what have you... get caught up in moments... polatics.... debates.... diferences.... and at times... bad things happen... poor choice of words... sarcasm.... attacks.... its not just Christians... we are all human.... Now as a Christian we are to strive for and seek love, forgiveness, kindness and gentless.... but because we are only human like the rest of the world... we fall short... From a Christian view point.... believer or non... we all fall short from any moral standard and we sin or come up short. Thats the best I can do to explain it...
