  1. Good for you, I finally have an appointment for mine next week too. It is helping me to be able to go to college, work part time, and support my 3 kids as I get divorced from an alcoholic husband. I am thankful for all that is given to me without this help I would still be stuck in misery!
  2. I think it does differ for food stamps only there is no limit. I am kinda in ur boat minus the husband I am working part-time (all i could find), going back to school and living with my parents. I have signed up for food stamps because it helps with our expenses. MY parents utility bills have increaded and the fs help with the grocery bill. hth
  3. A little background, I left my husband and am getting divorced and I am living with my parents homeschooling my 3 older kids while I work part time at nights. I am going to go back to school this fall to become a respiratory therapist which I will have to be a full time college student to do. MY kids will be enrolled in a virtual academy and basically will work on their own except for the occassionally help from me, everything will be planned out they will just have to do their thing. My question is how do you do it? How do you organize ur time? we are lucky with live with my parents who will be here with them, although they don't need sitters but I fell better with them having someone around. Any tips? I want to learn speed reading and refresh my study skills. Anything else? Also what kind of backpack do you carry I can only imagine the big books I will have plus a netbook, my back is already hurting.... thanks for the help. i'm a little nervous so many life changes for the good so quickly blessings lori
  4. I am a newly single mom and I work nights... my kids are older so that is easy and yup still not getting child support but I should by the end of april
  5. I am 38 and going back to school to be a surgical tech.... of course mine is because of life changing situation but hey its where I am at.
  6. I am a newly single mom and my kids next year will be in 8th, 10th and 11th grade. I am needing stuff that is easy to no prep and basically can be done on their own. I am working nights and might be going back to school in the fall. I will need suggestions for the following courses: Chemisty (non-science kid), US history, American History, Spanish 1 and 2, and 8th grade science. Also I am on a budget...thanks for your suggestions and if your a single mommy who homeschools and have any words of wisdom I would love to hear it!
  7. Question..... can notgrass be done without much parental involvement? I am looking for something to use with my 11th grade next year and I am a newly single mom..... thanks!
  8. I have my 2 oldest who want to take advance biology/ human anatomy with labs, any suggestions? thanks lori
