  1. Woohoo! Boy the forms seem different... Im actually in my last few years homeschooling... my youngest is now 17! Almost done... Thanks for saying hi Ladies!!! This was always a great community to be a part of!! Lisa
  2. It has been a long time since I visited these forums! It looks so different!! I wonder if anyone remembers me!? :/ hahaha Im Lisawa... my blog ( also have not been on there forever, but changed that today) is koinonia academy. Just wanting to say hi and play catch up if some of the folks I used to know on here.... Hope this isn't to strange! LOL Lisawa

  5. Hi.:) I have both Teaching the Classics and the World view. I recently purchased the world view and have not used it yet. The teaching the classics I use all the time. I honestly do not think you have anything to worry about. They are teaching you analysis (A Socratic Method) for literature. That itself is not Christian. They use good classical literature or good books as starting points. The curriculum or program itself is for you to teach analysis. See here: Teaching the classics basic principles What is Teaching the Classics Teaching the Classics is scroll to page 2 Student Essay Sample I hope that helps. Its a fantastic program. Its helped teach me to teach my peeps.
  6. Not sure how you have it... but try putting a unit in a binder at a time. That way you dont "look" at it all. *Ü* Take it a week at a time... and just do it. NO worry... You can do it!!:grouphug:
  7. If you are looking at long term you might look into IEW...its pricey but worth it! I also recommend Jump in. It’s affordable and with some instruction can be completed on his own. It is geared for reluctant writers... it’s not overwhelming in instruction either. Couldn’t go wrong with either...
  8. :iagree: This is what I thought... a honey yellow... or a creamy yellow. With stain color of the cabinets it would go wonderfully. Lisa~
  9. Do you have a recipe to share for both?? I have a huge box full of apples waiting for me to do something... but not sure how to go about it. I was going to google something.... but if you have a recipe... would love to have it! :D
  10. I was a young single mom. 17 pregnant, and just turned 18 when I had him. He is all grown up now. 20 years old and just moved out (yesterday) into an intern house on church property... sadness time has flown by... excitement he is on to new and independent things. Sorry if I'm buttin in here... its been a long time since I hung out over here on the forums!
  11. We use this, but I don't have a schedule. I just have my daughter work through a few lessons a day. We just move onto the next lesson when she is done and gets it. Math is sometimes one of those tricky things for us to schedule. If we have an issue in an erea... we stay in that area longer, so I no longer schedule lessons. Its just a given we do math daily. :) Lisa~
  12. Just my thoughts here... but I think the reason is that they are on the Loosethreads yahoogroup. Go to that yahoogroup and do a roll call and you would be surprised by the number *Ü* I'm a rotating moderator for the year specific lists... and can testify to this. Some woman are entering a 3rd cycle. :)
  13. Using TOG since 2003. Year 4 redesigned 1 dialect (13 yr old) 1 R (17 year old)
  14. Thanks for the reply!! Its good to get feedback! They are considering a new date for next year... Thanks again... I truly appreciate this...
