  1. Thanks, Crystal. I'm glad to hear that you were happy with the strength training. Darla - Good idea to check the spam folder. I did a search of my spam folder and didn't find anything.
  2. FWIW, I do not recommend purchasing programs from Family Time Fitness because of their lack of communication and customer service. I purchased a High School Strength Training program, a 5K training program, and a core program from them through Homeschool Buyer's Coop. Though FTF says on their website that they respond to emails within two business days, when I had trouble accessing the downloads, my emails and phone calls went unanswered for ten business days. They did not respond until HBC got involved. In the manager's response, he claimed that his team had sent out new links three times already. However, a search of my gmail account only shows his email sent today. I hope that I do not have any further questions about the fitness programs because I do not have confidence that they will respond in a timely fashion.
  3. My kids take lessons all summer. Their teacher earns her living through teaching piano and wouldn't be able to make ends meet if her students took time off in the summer. Also, my kids are advanced enough to the point that their progress would be hurt with time off. They need the summer to keep advancing to new levels of playing each year.
  4. Yes, my kids and I have already attended a Stimulus Protest and a Tea Party. We are planning on attending another Tea Party on April 15th.
  5. Love it! Have you seen this? ->> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hbd-2lhYMqw&feature=related
  6. Hi I just now thought of checking back on this thread. I read the book at the end of August. I did read Adara and gave it to my kids along with TOG's questions. I definitely liked that book better than Victory on the Walls. TOG assigns it to middle school aged kids, but my 8 yo daughter also read it.
  7. I think that it would be a good activity supplement for anyone if they actually use it consistently. My kids and I like RR. I have given the program to a niece and a nephew, but they have not used it much. I wish I had it earlier when my boys were younger. The number bond activities and games helped my daughter to learn her math facts a lot faster. I had her use Math-U-See blocks or the keyboard as a number line to find the answers to the activities. When she started internalizing the bonds, then she played the games.
  8. Unfortunately, my comments are not going to be helpful to you, but since you brought up this book... This book is scheduled in TOG which has questions to go along with it. I pre-read the book and disliked it so much that I'm not going to have my kids even read it. This book seemed like a rough draft to me, it was so poorly written. The dialogue was sketchy and I often found myself backtracking to figure out which character was speaking. The fictional nephew in the story seemed like a whiny brat. I had so little sympathy with the characters in the story that I felt like it detracted from the biblical account, rather than adding to my understanding. Just my unrequested 2 cents...
  9. Mine is up. Not exactly wordless, but some fun pictures taken by my kids...
  10. Mine's not an official Wordless Wednesday, but I do have several musical performances posted on my blog, including my dd's first public performance on cello...
  11. One time I gave cookie mixes decoratively layered in jars. Another time, I gave a Blockbuster gift certificate with coke and popcorn (that was just to one neighbor).
  12. Breckenridge is open for skiing right now, but I think that peak season is after Thanksgiving. All the snow for the past seven days has been man-made. There is no snow predicted for the next week. If you go to breckenridge.snow.com you can look at their mountain cams to see the snow. In the picture of the town, you can see patches of snow on the ground, but the town does not look like a winter wonderland yet. The temperature is supposed to get up to 55 degrees today in Breckenridge.
