  1. http://www.ksdk.com/news/article/244030/9/Plugging-the-nose-to-treat-sleep-apnea
  2. I would still do what is in my power to make him sleep lateral or prone. Mind u my husband is a beign snorer who can get very loud and always sleeps prone. I just sleep on a different shift than him. I watch people sleep for a living and seeing how bad apnea gets in the supine position. I would even incline the bed
  3. sew a tennis ball in the back of his jammie shirt so that he can not sleep supine. that will be a small help as apnea is worse He is at risk for heart attack and or stroke from apnea. I know of two 38 year olds that had massive heart attacks in their sleep due to lack of O2 and irregular heart rhythms cause by the apnea. This is life threatening in the sense that either one of you get behind the wheel you are worse than a text or drunk driver. Good luck
  4. As a night tec I never use the opus. Most patients dont seem to like them. If I am going with nasal pillows i am going with Swift or swift fx. Long term use at a pressure of 11 I would reccommend going back and forth between full nasal and pillows to allow the membranes in your nose heal from direct pressure. If you are not feeling like you are not getting enough air at when using the full nasal are you using the cflex option? I would call the sleep lab/dr and let them know you do not feel like you are getting enough air. What mask did you use when had your sleep study? If you are going back every ten days or what ever their trade time is they should not be giving you a hard time and I recommend calling your ins and lettting them know. Hit them in their pocket book. I always recommend to my pt that they tell their provider that they want to try as many masks on as they can because they are the ones that having to sleep with the machine. It needs to have easy of use and you want to make sure that it doesnt break down your skin. You will never get that with out trying on all the various brands. Good luck
  5. Does he wake up gasping? Does he get quiet then. A loud snore? If yes most likely it is not benign snorring. My husband has that. If he has heart issues most likely he has apnea. If the tired snoring and heart issues won't get him to the dr let him now that he is risking his ability to be able to um do tea as his stuff won't work. Carol who watches people sleep for a living
  6. I would even have your dd block the other girl because that mom may come in thru her acct and may even make up a name and send your dd msgs that way which i why with kids i am an advocate unless they are a friend they cant send messages (there is a way to stop that) and then monitor my childs friend list.
  7. I thought that was for ADHD Honestly with the acid in coffee I would not give it to a belly so young. I would also like to ask how much sleep your child gets and how quiet/noisy/active the sleep is.
  8. please watch your daughter go and block this woman from adding her back to fb and make it so that your dd act can not accept msgs from people that are not her friends. Find any crack that this person can slithering thru Then honestly I would keep an eye on your daughters friend list.
  9. http://www.education.com/reference/article/nightmares1/ What has changed in her life recently? is she getting enough sleep?
  10. My fifth grade teacher Christine Koob. I remember getting the word that she was my teacher and breaking down in tears. She was one tough cookie. She had very high expectations of all of her students and would not let you skate by. To her it didnt matter what grade you made but that you gave it all you have. She was also a great out of the box teacher. I remember one of my classmates didnt understand the rotation of the planets she drug all of us out to the gym with strings and made a live action model of the rotation of the planets. There were so many things like that she did. I ran in to her years later at a Walgreens. I was able to tell her what a difference she made in my life. I believe she died not long after of lung cancer.
  11. I am just north of St. Ann and it is icy on the side walk and car but the roads are slushy. I am not looking forward to the drive to IL to pick up my husband from work. But very happy my work already closed for the business tomorrow!
  12. A girlfriend of mind could look at her husband and get preggers so she got a tubal. They tied the tubes. They lost their last child to cancer and seem lost did foster adoption but still felt like they wanted more of thier own. She called their insurance company they paid for the surgery and she has three more girls and are still not sure if she is done.
  13. Why not talk to the owner? These girls are feeling threatened by her. I have found even adults in the work place who feel threaten by someone who is doing better goes to managers and make up stories and make work a hard place to be. I am glad your daughter is standing up for herself.
  14. Can you use a purchase of a computer or laptop as a tax deduction for our homeschool? This is our first year and the computer is solely used for schooling purposes. thanks
  15. With all of my dd food allergies that is a question I ask myself every flipping day. What I love is the hidden ingrediants they dont tell you about. Like having a corn allergic child who is reacting to potatoes. Come to find out that the bags are lined with corn and that it gets in to potatoes so even scrubbing them and cooking them the protien is there and she reacts Forumla work for some kids however finding one thatworks for my child has tested even the dr patience. I understand your rant.:grouphug:
  16. I would also get a sleep test. The ADD list and an apenic child list are identical. I would not stop the persuit of ADD but add to that list a sleep study.
  17. We used a medicine syringe in the mouth aimed at the back of the throat. However we have also mixed it in a small amt of apple sauce or yogurt
  18. If after you see a urologist and everything is fine see a sleep dr and see what is going on during sleep
  19. I would see a Urologist and if everything is normal see a sleep dr. A lot of bed wetting happens in sleep due to what is going on with the body it breathing and arousals (waking up for moments) Watch his neck when he sleeps does he hyper extend it? If yes there may be an issues
  20. What were u doing right before u got them? To me it looks like one of my dd reactions. She has a ton of food allergies. Do u have benedryl
