  1. Thanks! Do you have any suggestions or experiences with any other high school programs that aren't too pricey?
  2. Thanks Kai, I appreciate the feedback :-) At this point, I between a rock and a hard place.... My husband doesn't think we can do high school without a structured program and a bm school is out of the question, but I'm so fed up - I don't know what to do.
  3. Hey everyone, my son is currently in 9th grade Connections Academy. Our problem is that there seems to be a mojor disconnect between the materila presented and the assessments. My son studys very hard, understands the material, but when it comes to the quizzes and tests - he gets so frusterated. His teachers have even admitted that many of the questions are unrelated or strangley worded. My question to K12 users, Are the assessments clear and do they match the material being taught? I am really worried about the amount of stress that he is going through.....Thanks for reading!
  4. Hi Simka, The best way is to Google a soap recipe with easy on hand oils such as olive, palm, etc. You Tube also has a few videos for beginners which I found very helpful. You will need lye which can be found at any home improvement store (sold as drain cleaner), a thermometer, a scale, a mold (nearly anything can be used as long as it's lined with wax paper) and some kind of fragrance. It's really fun to do, I turned my hobby into a small business: www.sea9soap.com (just to give you some ideas). Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be more than happy to help :001_smile:
  5. I picked up a set from Wal-Mart. They were clearly marked "BPA FREE", come in 2 different sizes, and are heavy and thick. They were located in the section with "open stock" glass wear. HTH! :001_smile:
  6. I got a free prime membership by joining the Amazon "mom" club (it's free). Every time you spend $25 in baby items you get 1 month of prime free. I get a really good deal on diapers through their subscribe and save program and have gotten 8 months of free prime membership. Hopefully the offer is still the same now :001_smile: http://www.amazon.com/gp/mom/signup/welcome
  7. Not at all :001_smile:. DH and I have been happily married for 12 years and never once celebrated our anniversary.
  8. Wow, thanks for the heads up! I'm glad everything turned out well for your DS.
  9. I never knew that could be a possible cause. After all the great advise, I think I will take him to the MD to rule out any underlying causes and then decide from there. Thanks!
  10. My almost 11 year old DS still wets the bed at night. What would you do? Thanks!
  11. Are you sure your not talking about me & my 2 year-old?
  12. Thanks, it makes me sad because I (and every other Muslim I know) am/are anything but that.
  13. :iagree: Then maybe, just maybe people wouldn't mutter "terrorist" under their breath when they walked past me :001_huh:. Masjids/mosques are very welcoming to observers from other faiths :001_smile:.
