  1. FIAR makes me :) It's wonderful to find something that works! Congrats!
  2. On the site it states that she is taking a break and will continue at some point but for folks not to hold their breath as to when she will get back to posting. Thanks for the lapbooking info.!
  3. Glad you found the site! Did you see the SOTW1 lapbook, too? What a gem!
  4. Same here! It will be weird not cutting out the cool lapbook, plus I was so happy/proud that we got it done every week.
  5. Well, we have come to the end of the wonderful free lapbook (it only goes to chapter 23) posted on the run of the mill family blog. What an awesome blog, BTW! Did anyone make lapbook pieces for the second part of SOTW 2? Are you willing to share? Or do I really need to figure out how to make the rest all by my creatively challenged self?!?!? :tongue_smilie: I'm willing to pay... :D :001_huh:
  6. Hi, Just popping in to let you know what a blessing your site is for my dyslexic son. He loves it! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for sharing your love of science. :grouphug: Cate
  7. We enjoyed Gettysburg, too, but Martin Sheen's voice drove me crazy. The Great Locomotive Chase with Fess Parker is another movie you may want to check out. If you find one you love, please let us know. We are always on the look out for good movies about history.
  8. We LOVE Guesthollow! It worked great for a non-school-loving 10 year old boy. We bought the History Pockets, two punchout Native American village books, and the test book. The rest came from the library. It was easy to skip or add projects without guilt! :)
  9. Love, Love, Love FIAR! It is by far our #1 favorite in 7+ years of homeschooling. It just clicked with us. Even on the weeks we only did 3 or 4 in a row ;), we learned a ton!
  10. You're right. You are not the only one! Thanks for sharing. The brain hat is too cool. You inspired me, hope someone can do the same for you!
  11. LOVED ---> The Bee Tree Andy and the Circus (it's a hard one to find) The Wild Horses of Sweetbriar Henry the Castaway (Huge hit with my son) Duchess Bakes a Cake Warm as Wool ( we are from Ohio, that added to the story) The Salamander Room ( Must do!) Little Nino's Pizzeria ( What's not to love about pizza!?!) Truman's Ant Farm Liked ----> Climbing Kansas Mountain Paul Revere's Ride Don't remember the rest... Have fun! We LOVE FIAR!!!
  12. :iagree: Gotta Love FIAR!!! Glad to hear you are off to a great start!
  13. Oh man! I just ordered last week! :glare: Off to look again... :D :auto: Thanks for posting!
  14. Too funny! I know how you feel! No advice, just a little bump to help you find peace...
  15. Me too! I would LOVE a planner like this! If I knew how I would take the time to make one... with color... lots of color. :)
  16. Love your school room! And the cards! Thanks for sharing! :)
  17. :grouphug: It was VERY stressful, IMO, to fill out the forms. Dh and I did not agree on many points! The 1st question on our eval. was "Does your child loose things?" I think I asked 4 people what they thought of that question and got 4 different answers. My son misplaces things on a daily basis but he has never lost anything. So I marked "no" but after I turned in the forms I asked the gal and she gave me the most bizarre look and said it means to misplace things. UGH! And that was one of the easy questions, I didn't ask her about the 5,000 other questions! :tongue_smilie: Just do your best! :grouphug:
  18. We are! Not a full load, but enough that it feels like we never get a break! :tongue_smilie: Hugs! :grouphug:
  19. :bigear: It is VERY confusing! If you find a good source, please post it.
  20. :grouphug: Most people don't get it (even if they try). Go ahead and scream! I do it all the time! :D
  21. We LOVE FIAR! It changed our homeschool journey. I can't imagine what my son would have done without it! BTW-The program was recommended to a friend by the writers of Teaching the Trivium, which is obviously a classical approach. :grouphug:
