  1. Good question. I think most people expect cheap, less than a dollar. I always have excellent condition boutique clothing and price it higher, $3-7/dress or outfit, and maybe $5-10 for pricey, barely worn shoes. I don't always sell much (it seems to vary wildly), but am okay with that. :P (as it goes on ebay or elsewhere)
  2. Or, triethanol amine. That's what I think at least whenever I see it.
  3. Hi Joy! I know you (but I have a different name where you know me). :) Good to see you. Is it July 8th yet?
  4. It seems to me that it is possible that many students (whatever their age) are enrolled in CC or college simply because it is a checklist item in their lives. People who don't have specific goals, clear academic objectives, and the necessary drive and determination to meet those objectives often just flounder about aimlessly and seem easily thwarted by challenges. I just don't think everyone should go to college. There are cases where the student simply doesn't yet have the tools required to be successful at that level of academia, but they usually demonstrate a desire to gain them and will attempt to work with the teacher or a tutor to come up to speed.
  5. Totally worth watching. They did cut it short, which was a bit sad, but overall, it was very enjoyable.
  6. If it is frizzy, it is possibly due to humidty and also possibly due to your hair being dry. Do not increase vinegar usage, and definitely don't use baking soda on your hair, as they both will dry it out further. Do you do anything to replenish moisture? (condiitioner, oils..?) If not, increasing those sorts of things may also help.
  7. Self-education for you regarding SPD would be helpful, as well as OT. I can't recommend OT highly enough, really.
  8. This - the employer is attempting to avoid the responsibility of paying the apporpriate taxes for your daughter as an employee, and is placing the burden upon her for the full amount of social security taxes. I don't know if it is worth it to your daughter or not.
  9. I am so sorry for your continuing struggles and pain.:grouphug: You are on my mind often.
  10. This sounds like Tourette's and possibly SPD, combined. Have you had an OT evaluate him? It sound snothing like AHD, and I don't think those meds would be helpful. OT might be helpful though. We find that anxiety produced by sensory issues results in higher frequency of tics in our dd, and that therapeutic approaches can help alleviate the anxiety and reduce the tics.
  11. I had Fifth's (parvovirus) as an adult, and it was not a trivial thing. I had high fever, severe pain in my joints, and a few days later the lacy rash and very swollen joints (hands, ankles, knees). I am going to guess that you don't have it, as adult cases are usually pretty intense. Your doctor can easily do a blood test to determine if you have it though. I hope not, for you and your baby's sake.:grouphug:
  12. I don't like lots of family photos up on a wall. (Like pp's, I tend to not hang much of anything on the wall.) But, I do have a number of nice photos of my dd, in lovely frames, and I set them on tables and such against the wall or on tables. So, I suppose I have at least 8-10 of her around the house.
  13. I was an avid exerciser for many years. I did ballet, I did and taught various types of aerobics, I ran, I lifted weights. I exercised 3 hours a day many days (5-6 days per week). I destroyed my achilles tendon. This created tendonitis in my opposite hip, sa my gait is funny. After ten years, it also led to my ankle being "brittle" due to scar tissue, and I fell and tore all 3 ligaments in my nakle, catastrophically. That has not healed properly, and so my gait is weird again, which led to my developing extremely painful plantar fascitis. Now, I get chronic, debilitating pain if I walk or do any sort of exercise except riding a stationary bike (boring, and has no effect on me). I could swim, but I am not a great swimmer, and I really hate being wet, so it isn't a thing I would consistently choose. I can do stretches and light weight lifting at home (no access to a gym anymore). I have an elliptical trainer, which I used to be able to use, but since I developed severe the plantar fascitis, doing that for even 10 minutes leaves me in severe pain for days. We also believe I may have chronic untreated thyroid problems which has led to firbomylagia symptoms. So, mild exercise leaves me in severe pain. So, we have a person who used to be extremely active, who now has severe, chronic pain and cannot do the exercize activitiees that she enjoys. I am left with choices that are really boring or unpleasant (swimming) to me, and so I don't often remember to make a place for them in my life. I am not lazy. I am not unaware of the blissful chemical and physical benefits of exercising. I am ill and injured. What I really want is a surgical solution or stem cell treatments for my foot/ankle, so I can do the things i enjoy again.
  14. We thought it was fine for our 6 year old. It was pretty to look at, and fariyl entertaining.
  15. I pace, clean, unload dishwashers, deal with child, etc. while ont he phone. DH has to hide in a room away from us. I can't do business calls w/ dd around htough. She immediately senses the importance/tension and begins making annoying noise and demands.
  16. I am sorry for your losses and that you are having to go through this difficult time. I recently miscarried, and we were not discussing it with my daughter (age 6) as it was happening. But it was very evident to her that we were stressed, that mommy was sick, that we were upset and something was wrong. So, I finally talked to her, because I felt like the fear of the unknown would be worse than the truth. She handled it very matter-of-factly and well. ** Just saw your update, and it sounds exactly like the conversation I had with my daughter. I am glad it went well for you.
  17. Ugh, this problem seems to be the baneof my existence. I have discovered that high thread count, 100% cotton sheets can and do pill! It has a lot to do witht eh threadd quality and length of the fiber, but this information is not usually on the label. This article is good for information, but I still couldn't point out a brand for you. The last expensive set I bought from Macy's pilled in one wash. http://www.frontgate.com/wcsstore/images/Frontgate/moreinfo/LuxuryBedding.html This is also great ifnormation, if poorly ritten. http://reviews.ebay.com/TRUTH-ABOUT-THREAD-COUNT-EGYPTIAN-COTTON-SHEETS-BED-SET?ugid=10000000001274215
  18. I am reading A Study in Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and The Gift of Dyslexia.
  19. Seriously, I must just run a wet kitchen, because we also go through a million towels per day mopping up the counters, drying the sink, drying a dish or three, wiping up water on the floor, wiping down the fridge, etc.. I wash at least 1-2 loads per week of just dish towels. I don't iron them though! (wow, really?)
  20. I am very curious what they replace the BPA with as well, as they need a crosslinker for the protective coatings to cure properly and have the right properties. That canned tuna is loaded with mercury anyway, so you don't want to eat that, OP. :tongue_smilie:
  21. This is very developmentally normal. Five year olds find competition extremely difficult. I personally believe it is best to just limit it at that age.
  22. Butter, local ground beef, blueberries (all go in the freezer).
  23. Yes, I have a coat rack/hat rack on which I hang my purse.
  24. I desperately need to get one of these. Gah, I asked for the wrong thing for Mother's day.
  25. I grew up in various states in the south, am over 40, and have never heard of this practice.
