  1. Howard Academy. The kids named it after my father who believed that education is important.
  2. I think it shows the parents are at least trying to follow the rules of etiquette. I am appreciative of any thank you. I have taught my kids to write their own thank you cards-but that is me. As for evite-I resisted it for a very long time. I am now a lover of evite.
  3. I am with the Spring people. Although I do love a fire in my fireplace (but not last night when dh trusted the word of our 10 year old that the flue was open). The kids playing in the snow is great. Hot chocolate Being inside where it is warm is a good thing That hush that comes with the snow falling

  8. There is lots of good info here: http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com
  9. Totally not. I had all kinds of plans for prepping lessons but..... first there were all the Holiday Parties-some we hosted, some we attended. then there was the unexpected house guest-who is still here and not leaving until Tuesday. We will be winging it this week.
  10. You are allowed to snack on raw veggies any time of day. Fruit-most of the time. If dinner will be on the table within the next 20 minutes you can have a carrot or wait it out.

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington Shirley Temple Movies Fiddler on the Roof Some Like it Hot Slice of Life I know there are more but I am drawing a blank right now.
  13. I put the bread in the oven to rise. I place a small pot of boiling water on the shelf below. This seems to create a nice warm and humid environment for the bread to rise.
  14. I know you said no witches but my two really enjoy when I read the Oz series of books. They also enjoy Raggedy Ann and Andy stories The Paper Doll series Robin Hood 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea The 5 Little Peppers and How They Grew
  15. It has happened to me a couple of times. Right now we are in dispute about a book.
  16. Chinese Takeout. Our annual tradition for the 16 years we have been married.
  17. It sounds like the alternator. If it is not then you have a bad wire somewhere. I had that happen with a car of mine. It was in the shop every week as they tried to find the bad wire. Then, when it was finally fixed the car was stolen. Ah, the memories.
  18. I don't think it is weird. I think it is sweet. Of course, I still have my first Teddy Bear-Theodora. I let my dd keep her in her room and she takes care of her. Dd lets me visit whenever I want.
  19. I have a Kitchenaid handmixer. It is at least a decade old. I have always been happy with it.
  20. I blog for me. Well, really for my mother so she knows what is going on in our schooling and life. I write about what the kids are doing, things we do as a family. Sometimes I have a lot to say and sometimes I don't. I try to post something every few days otherwise I have to answer to my mother that we must not be doing much because there is nothing on the blog.
  21. We use scrap paper and they copy the answer to the worksheet and attach the scrap so I can see their work.
  22. I have not found a program online that I like yet for my MAC so I just use paper.
  23. I must admit that I do love my dryer balls. I have 3. My 4th one broke and I have not sent it back for a new one yet. My towels are so nice and fluffy when they come out of the dryer and the clothes do dry a little bit faster.
  24. I was blubbering during Mulan this morning. My kids laughed themselves silly.
