  1. How can people live with themselves, what kind of person willingly makes life more difficult for a child? A really crummy person. :glare:
  2. I was curious about Ohio because my son really wants to go back and be in band and I thought it might be fun for him to be in art classes too. I have known parents here who have their kids enrolled part time but I wasn't sure what the legality was. Our district, an inner ring suburb, tends to be very homeschooler friendly.
  3. Yep liners are a great item to have, they make cloth diapers so much less messy.
  4. While listening to NPR today they said the result could come in around 8pm their time. The media seems confident that the original verdict will be tossed and she will be released but her own attorneys are not that confident. In fact I guess she could end up receiving life in prison rather than the 25 (I think) years she is currently serving. http://www.npr.org/2011/10/03/141002449/italian-appeals-court-to-decide-amanda-knoxs-fate
  5. How scary and wonderful at the same time. I will be in the same boat in three short months.
  6. I scrapbook but never have really embellished my pages. I like the concept of scrapbooking because it combines photo albums and journals but it should never bring stress, good luck to you.
  7. No way! None of my kids would go, nope not even my ds (15). I don't think I am at the point with my kids where they need a scared straight type message.
  8. We usually use ours in our backyard on our firepit. Mostly we make dutch oven stew which has bacon, chicken (cut up), potatoes, onions, and carrots, we also make cobbler. We usually cook it for about an hour. You can cook so much in them. And fyi you do not wash them with soap and water, only water. You should check out a book from the library.
  9. I was taught on a manual first and had to take my drivers test in a car with manual. Lots of practice is all I can recommend. I'll be interested to hear what people have to say as my ds (15) will be getting his permit in 3 short months  and even though his main car will be an automatic we want him to learn on dh's manual.
  10. Awww poor thing. Hopefully everything will be sorted out in the morning and the healing can begin.
  11. cseitter and missmoe, I will keep your families in my prayers. My husband was a non-member for years before he joined the church. It sounds like your husbands are open to the church and that means so much. I will pray that they will come around. :grouphug:
  12. Dh and the boys always come home so excited about priesthood session and I feel sort of left out, I know I shouldn't but I don't get that same excitement out of the women's sessions. Hey at least I can read the priesthood talks in the Ensign.
  13. My boys have been trying to get me to play WoW for awhile now but I don't need something else to be addicted too. Looks like a lot of fun though.
  14. If my kids are in pain I take them to the doctor, so my advice would be take him to the doctor. Injuries that don't heal properly in children can lead to life long problems.
  15. I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, often referred to as Mormons and I am a Christian. Christians believe that Christ is our redeemer, it doesn't mean we belong to a certain faith.
  16. :grouphug: As a mom to children with Asperger's, autism, GAD, and a mood disorder I totally understand. I always want to ask those who think I am just a bad parent why I have two perfectly normal children.
  17. Um yeah...he is certainly a "character". I do wish him a happy retirement.
  18. That reminds me of when my second oldest got into baby powder. He took it off his brothers changing table. Man that was messy. I still remember when my brother was 5 and tried to wash his hair with baby oil. :D
  19. I will admit it's still on my bookshelf from high school. My ap us history teacher used this book as part of our class. I learned a lot from that class and my eyes were opened. I don't agree with all of Zinn's views but through that class I was finally able to no longer look at the world through rose colored glasses. Anyhow I would love to attend one of these protests. I think it's good to see people active, we need a more active country, we need people to think and to act no matter what their politics are.
  20. silly boys!! Oh well toothpaste washes and hair grows back.
