  1. I would have done the same thing. I don't like the flavor of eggs. I love omelettes and quiche, but the egg must be well disguised. Iam one of thpse people that even adds hot sauce to my already spicy enchilada soup. I would not be offended, eggs are one of a few foods that people are pretty particular about. I only eat scrambled or as an omelettes with many additional goodies, DH only eats over easy. My kids only like them over easy. My sister and mom....with salsa. It's no big deal. But I do have a momentary bit of pain everytime my DH weds salt and pepper to a meal I have worked hard on. ;)
  2. I put other because I could not select them all. I spend a lot of time here, I get questions answered and gather LOTS of information on homeschool curriculum and methods. I also have some fun when the interesting threads come up. We attend a co-op. The families all share the same Christian values as we do, but not necessarily the academic goals. They are friendly and a lot of fun. We have mom's night outs and a room for moms (and a couple of dads) to hang out, eat, and talk in during our kids classes. There are many very experienced HSers that I can talk to there. Plus, it's just fun to be around people IRL. I also have a community group - small group at church. Two of the other families (out of 5 total) homeschool. We use some similar materials and our oldest kids are all 6 and in first grade. We have only been a group for 8 weeks, but so far we are really liking the fellowship and it is nice to have friends in the same place we are - both in family and education.
  3. My high school had 45 minute periods, 7 per day. We accomplished a lot in those classes. 99% of students went on to college, over half applied to and were accepted to top level private schools. We had no wasted time in class. I had dance students in a block scheduling school, they had 8 classes rotating 4 every other day for 90 minutes. They received the same 45 minutes of instruction, 45 minutes of homework time. They liked the schedule because thwy had less homework at night. Most of the .kids who went to college went to the small state school in town or the community college 30 minutes away. They covered less material in a year than I did in college and many kids struggled with math for this reason.
  4. I do one cup of uncooked rice, when it is nearly done cooking I add one can black beans, one can rotel tomatoes, and simmer. We top with fresh jalepeno, cheese, and a little sour cream.
  5. My preschool dance students lick the mirrors.....Yuck! What made me smile.......after 4 years on the market and 8 weeks pending....when closed on our house in Missouri!!!! It is such a relief!!!

  7. After my second baby they went from a perfect 28 day cycle to irregular, now 24-25 days. On the up side for me....they are only 3 days instead of 7 now! I have wondered why the drastic change....I assume it is just hormone changes after having a baby. I had a much linger cycle before my first. Hmmm....
  8. We used to log in Warrensburg, MO. Some of our friends there felt the one last night. They felt it as far St. Louis.
