THIS is my summer to get organized! I intend to do that every summer but this time I'm going to be intentional about it. I will make a plan to hit all areas of the house (except basement, garage and storage shed, those are dh's areas) as well as organize my time with school schedules, menu plans etc. THIS is the summer!!

Did everything on yesterday's list except the actual cleaning:P I did, however, gather up two large bags of clothing for the charity box and delivered them last evening. So, that counts;) today must involve cleaning of some sort laundry meals school flower gardening, weather permitting.

I guess he thought I would be starting menopause sooner than later. But, as of yet, there's no real signs. Except those wretched heat flashes at night! Ugh. I think I'm going to buy some blackstrap molasses and see if that helps.

My favorite for baby girls is the purse that has plastic lipstick, keys, cell phone etc. I think it's made by Playschool (not sure) and I know it's not really a "quality" toy but babies that age love to take things out and put them back into something and, of course, every little one loves Mommy's purse:)

Mom2Scouts said "My day was pretty good except for one thing. My youngest children gave me some small gifts and homemade cards and my older children called...except one. He's in the military and can't call unless the drill sergeant gives them a few minutes for a phone call. I was really hoping to hear from him today. His girlfriend posted on Facebook that she got a call from him today and I said "Hey, no fair that he didn't use his call to call his mom for Mother's Day". She got rude, deleted the post, and made a snotty post about how she was happy for a change and I was just trying to bring her down and she wasn't having it, blah, blah, blah. Really? She would begrudge a mom being disappointed that her son used his very rare phone privilege on Mother's Day to call his girlfriend? She didn't appreciate that I might also have been happy to hear my son's voice on this day? Then she had to make it all about me trying to hurt her? Ugh, it took quite a bit of willpower for me not to say what I really think of her attitude." When my son was in the military I LIVED for those rare phone calls, Mother's Day or not. Looks like his gf has quite a bit of growing up to do; maybe you can be thankful it's only gf and not fiance or wife! Hope you get a call from him soon. :grouphug:

Amy, so glad that you are okay, that must have been scary! We have 12 more days of school so I'm hoping to add in several field trips and have two 6 day school weeks and be done by Memorial Day, we'll see how that goes. Check cleaning schedule (I've taken off the last three days so might have to double up on some things) laundry school, naturally meals boys have practice for piano recital at teacher's home, dh and I will probably hit Home Depot (again!) Groceries Library That's enough for one day!

We had a wonderful day at my son and daughter-in-laws on Saturday. She made all the food and would not let me help. Five out of my six children were there (newly married daughter lives in MO, but she called me yesterday and we text all the time), all six of the grandchildren (new baby due in Nov.) My kids are very artistic (did NOT get that gene from me!) and four of the six gave me homemade cards/gifts, one gc and a dinner bell to hang on my front porch which I have been wanting for a long time:) Two of my sons called/texted me yesterday to say Happy Mother's Day again, since I just saw them Saturday. And my daughter posted a lovely tribute to me on Facebook:) I am not deserving of any of this in anyway. I am just feeling so blessed today.

Pretty much a day off for me. Open House at Camp one of my sons would like to attend this summer Home Depot for bedding plants and mulch Son and Daughter-in-laws for lunch and time with all my grandkids and 5 of my 6 children (daughter and son-in-law live in MO, my first Mother's Day without her)

I really appreciate this thread! We are not quite there yet but it's so encouraging to know there are classes like this available. I bet the PA Homeschoolers will be at CHAP this weekend:). I'll have to check out the info.

I am not surprised at the cheating, I think we all know it goes on in one form or another. It's how blatant it was that surprised me. I guess it really shouldn't of though. Sad, isn't it.:(

Our thoughts about homeschooling have slowly evolved. Our original thought was to homeschool the twins until our dd graduated from Christian school, since we did not want to pay for three tuitions. Homeschooling was going so well for us that we have continued long after dd graduated (2010). Also had thoughts of putting the boys in CS when they reached high school age but now, as rising 7th graders, we will continue to homeschool through high school unless the Lord should show us otherwise.

We are planning to use Exploring Planet Earth by Tiner this fall, along with Geography III by Memoria Press. Does anyone have a list of living books that would go well with this study? Thanks!!

We went to NYC last summer and stayed at the Waldorf! On the company's dime but if you can afford it, it was lovely. We walked to most everything. I think it spoiled NYC for me. I would want to stay there if we ever get the chance to go again;)

We will be having our family get-together on Saturday (see previous post about A-mazing daughter-in-law:) and the weather forecast for the weekend looks promising. I think we'll do something quick like Subway after church and then maybe I can get my guys to help me plant flowers. We'll see:)
